Actually, I went after looking into standalone columella lowering surgery, but for a case like mine (septal extension/ear cartilage, no-implant nasal tip surgery already done), they said that to lower just the columella, I’d have to use autologous costal cartilage and do a full surgery, so there would be too much to lose compared with what I’d gain, and it would become a major surgery, so they didn’t recommend it. They said they understood why I wanted it, but my side profile and front view are fine, so if I were their family, they wouldn’t let me do it. I had read this and that on the blog, so I also asked about cheekbones, and they said only the right side is slightly prominent, but fat grafting to the temples would be much better than cheekbone surgery. They said they could reduce the cheekbone, and of course it would get smaller, but it wouldn’t be very noticeable. Doing both together would probably be even better. If I want to do anything more to my current face, they recommended non-incisional ptosis correction. (I already felt like I’d need it someday anyway.) Anyway, they were very direct and honest, but also kept asking if I had any more questions. I recommend reading the blog thoroughly before going.
