For a long time, because of my low and wide nose, I had no confidence in my nose, so most of the time I would cover my nose whenever I took photos.ㅠ After a lot of thought, I had a consultation with Director Kim Jae-yoon at Lowell Plastic Surgery, and I liked the consultation details and reviews, so I decided to have surgery. We decided to use donated costal cartilage, and he said it would be good to use donated costal cartilage and secure the nasal tip with my own cartilage using a 4-layer fixation, so we decided to use ear cartilage as well. I used donated costal cartilage because I felt burdened by the scar from autologous costal cartilage, and I think I made the right choice. And now 6 months have passed! Right after surgery, breathing was uncomfortable because of the splint and cotton packing, and I was worried because there was bruising and swelling under my eyes. But as the hospital explained, I consistently did cold compresses and took my medication, so the bruising disappeared quickly and the swelling went down too. Especially after removing the splint a week later, it felt like the swelling subsided much faster. After surgery, my friends and relatives around me said things like, “It looks so natural” and “It looks like your original nose,” so I felt really good. Now that 6 months have passed, the shape of my nose is settling more and more naturally as time goes by after surgery, to the point where I never want to see my pre-surgery nose again. Since the surgery, my worries and complex about my nose have completely disappeared, and rather, I feel like nose surgery gave me a lot of confidence, so I’m really satisfied.
