After many twists and turns, I had removal surgery 8 months after my nose surgery. For the bridge, Gore-Sili, ear cartilage, and septal cartilage were used. I also had my alar cartilages tied. Really... the hospital was ridiculous too.... They said an unnamed director would do the revision surgery on the front of my eyes, but the representative director did it, and they said the representative director would do the nose removal in 30 minutes, but another unnamed director did it... In a way, that was actually more fortunate, but... The eyes were done under local anesthesia, and before stitching my eyes, they gave me sedation... As I gradually regained consciousness, I prayed so hard that I wouldn’t wake up from the anesthesia... but of course I woke up in the middle of the nose surgery... because they were removing the Gore-Tex... When I was really struggling, the doctor spoke informally and said, “You know, don’t you, it doesn’t come out well because of the Gore-Tex.” Even before surgery, I had a vague fear about whether it was okay to use Gore-Tex, but I fell for the hospital’s persuasion and thought there would be no problem, so I had the surgery... It’s terrifying to even think how much worse the adhesion would have been if I had had the removal surgery much laterㅠㅠ If Gore-Tex is this much trouble, I wonder what other materials that are said to be hard to remove would be like... During surgery, the representative director kept going in and out of the room, and the doctor who was operating said, “Director, once all of this is removed, it’s so severe that~ blah blah,” and the representative director said, “What can we do? The patient wants everything taken out, so there’s no choice. Just think of it as repairing it, remove everything back to the original state, and just close it up.” I don’t know if they said that for me to hear... After hearing that, I even got scared, wondering how serious the condition must be for them to say that....ㅠ As expected, since the septal cartilage that had been supporting my nose was gone too... my nose looked like it was just going to collapseㅠ After they removed everything with so much difficulty, at the very end the doctor said, “If I close you up like this, you’ll be in big trouble. Should I at least reposition the cartilage for you?” Soㅜㅜ I forgot all about my decision not to leave anything in my noseㅠㅠ and told him to do it... He tied the cartilage really tightly... Now I’m scared that I might feel a foreign-body sensation... Sigh, people’s hearts are really... fickle. Thanks to the Gore-Tex, the surgery took about 3 and a half hours, and right now I have a splint on my nose. The doctor put it on, saying it’s better than not doing it because of swelling and cartilage protection. It feels stuffy, numb, and tight even now... Still, since it’s my second timeㅋ it seems better than the first time. I feel a bit more at ease too. My eyes, which the representative director handled very skillfully and quickly, still have some swelling gone down already, but I already feel like they turned out well. For my nose, since I met a doctor who had at least a little conscience, I feel like I avoided the worst-case scenario, so it’s hard, but not to the point of dying... I couldn’t even go on the summer vacation everyone else goes onㅠㅠ It’s sad to be stuck at home like this over the holidayㅠㅠ Once the splint is removed and all the stitches are taken out, I’m just going to forget everything and live without getting stressed over my nose anymore... I’m not taking Rizaben either, only the medication prescribed by the hospital.... Whatever happens to my nose afterward, I’ll think of it as my fate... and as my fault for getting nose surgery without thinking, and live on. Those who have made up their minds to get surgery,,, those who have made up their minds to get removal.. those who went through hardship like me to get things removed.....
