<Before nose surgery><After nose surgery>I was stressed about my nose for a long time, and as you can tell from the pre-op photos, my nose had a hump, a thick nasal bridge, and a relatively thick nasal tip, so I was really worried about whether rhinoplasty could turn out well in one surgery. I had gone for a consultation once at the end of 2023 too, but it wasn’t the nose style I wanted and the cost didn’t work for me, so I didn’t get surgery then. I guess I kept feeling really hung up on it all that time... Early last year, I went back for re-consultations at the two clinics I had consulted with back then, and while looking at more reviews, I also went in person to two additional clinics that I thought I liked. Most places said that since the nasal bridge also needed to be made slimmer, they recommended osteotomy, but osteotomy = I felt like nose recovery would be slow.... I was so worried that I chose a place that said they could improve the nasal bridge by shaving it down instead. That doesn’t mean only the place where I had surgery suggested shaving it, and actually there was exactly one place that recommended osteotomy lol I think hearing that from even one place made me more conflicted for no reason. It’s almost been a year now, so there’s nothing I regret and nothing I feel disappointed about. Even just design-wise, it really changed a lot compared to before.. The hump that had been the source of my never-ending stress was also operated on neatly, with the height difference smoothed out. But when I think about the recovery period, it was honestly so hard ㅠㅠ It was also my first time getting cosmetic surgery, and I guess it hurt more than I expected.... During the time I had the splint on, I could only breathe through my mouth, so my mouth would get completely dry while I slept, and when I woke up, my throat was so dry that it was really difficult. At least once the cotton packing and splint were removed, that period got much better, so that was a relief. If I had to keep the splint on for a month, I don’t think I could ever have done the surgery..... The saying “I was brave because I was ignorant” seems somewhat true lol Since it was my first surgery, I really had no sense of what to expect and just went ahead with it. At least the clinic wasn’t newly opened, and the director had a lot of experience, so I’m just glad they didn’t make the rhinoplasty plan itself excessive. Until the one-month mark, I lived constantly paying attention to it, but honestly from around months two to three, I relaxed and just lived normally. No pain, the nose shape is pretty, and my nose hasn’t taken any impact.... I’m just grateful that I’ve recovered well so far without any major problems.
