(First photo - one month after my first double-eyelid surgery with the non-incisional buried-suture method) (Second photo - the day after revision surgery with the incisional method) (Third photo - 3 weeks later) (Fourth photo - one month later) (Fifth photo - three months later) (Sixth photo - four months later) (Seventh photo - 6 months later) (Eighth photo - 7 months later) (Last photo - 11 months later) I don't know how to begin, but I'm writing this feeling so devastated. ㅠㅠ I originally had inner double eyelids, and in 2016 I got double-eyelid surgery for the first time with the buried-suture method. I thought an excessive, deep crease wouldn't suit my face, so I got a thin line with the buried-suture method, and I lived very satisfied with it for several years. Then in 2024, the skin on my eyelids started sagging and swallowing up the line, so around July I had double-eyelid revision surgery with the incisional method from the same doctor. Because my first surgery experience was good, I think I was way too complacent about having surgery with the same doctor. When I consulted with the doctor, I just assumed they would naturally do a good job like before, so I went ahead without even having a line drawn on my eyes beforehand and without discussing it. Thinking about it now, I should have properly explained the line I wanted and reached an agreement then! (I live overseas, so I go back to Korea once a year for about a month and a half. I had the surgery while I was there, so once I return overseas, I have to wait a year if I want revision surgery ㅠㅠ) In the photos, the eye on the right side (actually my left eye) especially has wrinkling at the inner front part, the line is placed too high, the eyelashes are lifted, and my right/left eyes are uneven. To me, it looks way too unnatural. (After 11 months passed, I told my parents I was thinking about revision surgery, and only then did they say they had also felt for a long time that my eyes looked a bit strange...) After 6 months, I sent photos to that plastic surgery clinic through KakaoTalk and said the double-eyelid line looked strange, but the consultant said I should wait at least a year and that the swelling hadn't gone down. And now about 11 months have passed. Compared with the photos from 6 months, almost nothing has changed. This wasn't swelling; the line had been set too high from the beginning. Actually, I had felt something was strange from one month after surgery, but everyone said it was swelling, so I just endured it for the time being. Even as time passed, deep down I knew it wasn't swelling, that the line itself had been set high and the surgery had gone wrong, but the time I spent waiting and hoping it was swelling was really hard. I didn't want to take photos, and meeting people felt burdensome. Anyway, I have a consultation appointment booked at the same clinic to match the dates I'm going back to Korea. (I'm going to ask about aftercare/revision support.) Would it be okay to have a re-revision surgery again with the same doctor? ㅠㅠ I want to lower the line and go back to how it used to be. Or should I look for a clinic that is good at double-eyelid revision surgery? If anyone here has had re-revision surgery, please recommend somewhere.
Clinics mentioned
쮸츄쮸 Not this clinic ㅜㅠㅠ I really hope it turns out exactly how you want.
성수현 That must be upsettingㅜㅜ I think a different clinic would be better
아머리아퍼 Look mainly for clinics that do a lot of revision surgeries ㅜㅜ

제이미윤 [@냔니냔냔] Right, I think I should do that too.. sigh ㅠㅠ
하따 Did you have eyeliner tattooing done?ㅜㅜ
제이미윤 [@하따] Yeah ㅠㅠ Something from 15 years ago... because the mucosa is lifting, it looks so weird together with the tattoo
하따 [@JamieYoon] Ah... so it was 15 years ago ㅜㅜ Even if people didn’t touch their eyes, a lot of people erase old eyeliner tattoosㅠ These days trends keep changing, so from the start they just leave out the tail area and shape the line It’s not just the uneven eyes, but as the eyes got bigger and the swelling went down, the tail line came down to the aegyo-sal too, so I think that makes it look even stranger My eyes are the kind with a high line like that and mucosal eversion (if I curl them, it’s seriously full-on mucosal revealㅋㅋ). If I cover the double-eyelid line with just a little dark shadow, it looks stuffy and puffy, so I really don’t draw eyeliner so much as stamp it onㅠ I think it’d be better to erase the eyeliner tattoo first and lower the lineㅜㅋ When you remove the tattoo, go somewhere that gives you protective lenses...!!

한니포아 I also live overseas (in the U.S.), and like you, I had my eyes ruined by an unskilled doctor at a clinic in Korea. I waited 6 months, went back to Korea, had revision surgery at a good clinic, and had a good outcome. I am completely against getting revision surgery from the same doctor. Doctors are human too, so with someone they failed on once, they can actually feel even more pressure, and the chance of failing again is high. Go somewhere that is truly good at eye surgery. Eye surgery takes more care and effort than people think...

제이미윤 The original post can’t be edited. There are a lot of comments asking which hospital, so I’ll write it here: I’m from Busan, so I had the surgery in Busanㅠㅠ... I’ll disclose the hospital name later, after I’ve had a consultation with that hospital first.
맘맘이이 But I think it would still be okay if you remove the eyeliner tattooㅠ seriously...

호두맘마머까 Before the revision surgery, make sure you remove your eyeliner!!!! I removed mine in a rush after the revision surgery. And even if you don't have much time, seriously make sure you go to lots of consultations. I found it hard to go around for consultations while I was pregnant, so I only went to one place, and I really regret it now lol
제이미윤 After removing it, did it feel much different?
호두맘마머까 It's only my first session so it's not completely gone yet, but the feeling of pressure has improved. I recommend removing it too!! The procedure time is short, but it hurts...ㅋㅋ
쌍쌍수바 I had mine done in Busan too and it turned out badly.. ㅠㅠ Everyone goes into surgery thinking it will be their last one, so how heartbreaking must that be ㅠㅠ
아깅돼지냥 I also got mine done in Busan and it went badlyㅜㅜ That's so upsetting. It seems like we're on the exact same pathㅜㅜ Never go to the same doctorㅜㅜ Definitely find someone who specializes in revision surgery for eyes
우리집고양이야옹 Oh no ㅠㅠ the whole look has changed completely. If you remove the eyeliner, you’d probably look younger again. Gosh, that must be really upsetting ㅠㅠ sending you a hug
뽐뿜빵 Then would you recommend choosing a different hospital for the revision surgery?
제이미윤 [@뽐뿜빵] I’ve decided I’m definitely going to do it at a different hospital now..!

초이하 I wouldn't recommend getting revision surgery at the same clinic. It must be very upsetting, but don't lose hope. I think it would be better to have the revision surgery done at a different clinic.
우쥬리 Even if you do it at the same place, there's no guarantee it will turn out well,, If it were me, I'd go somewhere else.. If you get a revision at the place where you had it done before, do they give you a discount? But even so, no.. you have to do it somewhere else for sure
디온리 That must be upsetting ㅜㅜ It seems like you have to be even more careful when getting revision surgery at the same clinic..
장원영되보자 Wow, that’s the same case as meㅠㅜㅠㅠ I liked my first double eyelid surgery too, but the line was so natural that I thought, should I try making it a bit more glamorous? Then it went wrong haha
돈까스먹고싶다 Seriously, let's get the revision surgery done at another hospital. Doing it at the same hospital is too muchㅜㅜ
부작용 No, but the line is way too thick... and the eye-opening correction was done too aggressively, too. Tell them to remove the eyeliner tattoo first, then ask them to loosen the eye-opening correction a little.
퐁당핑 But I think it’s just swelling, and the line doesn’t look bad???? Don’t judge too early; like the other comments said, if you remove the eyeliner and do your makeup well, I think it’ll be a glamorous and pretty eye!!

곰코곰 Wow... that hospital is really too much
제이미윤 [@] You didn’t have eye-muscle correction... It looks like a lot of the upper eyelid skin was removed.
minute11 Didn’t they ask you to open your eyes during the eye surgery? It seems like they fixed it too much from the start... If you open your eyes in between during surgery, you would see it right awayㅠ I’d really not recommend that hospitalㅠ I think it’ll go well if you preview the line in advance and communicate before surgeryㅠ good luck!
Eink I’ve also had revision surgery on my eyes 5 times already.. It’s still a failure, but please don’t go back and do the exact same thing again... sigh... I know it feels like a waste of money and all that, but once it fails, it’ll probably fail again. 굴곤 Seeing it like this, the pre-op eyes were pretty, but even just looking at the current photo without the old one, I don’t think they look sausage-like; I think they look pretty. I just think that if you do makeup well and give it 2-3 years, it’ll become more natural and prettier.
행만두 Still, your eyes don’t look bad now though ㅜㅜ
박박일 Even now, it’s at least enough to cover with makeup... ㅠㅠ If you really hate it that much, maybe consider re-revision surgery...
후라이팬놀이 Your current eyes would probably look pretty with makeup too, but the old eyes were definitely prettier... My friend also had a third revision, and they definitely looked pretty. But I think it would be better to switch hospitals for it.
계피01 I absolutely don't recommend going to the same hospital ㅠㅠ I think it's better to wait until the swelling settles, about 1 to 2 years. It's not totally sausage-like!! It's more that the lash line is lifted, so it looks that way. Still, if it really bothers you, let's go consult another hospital.

오뎅ㅇ That must be really upsetting... ㅠㅠㅠ
웅돌 Absolutely do not do it at the same clinic
Reader 136 Honestly, if it's economically possible to go to another clinic, I'd recommend another clinic... not asking the original clinic for aftercare... get some compensation if you can, and honestly it seems better to look for a clinic for revision surgery... that's just my standard... my opinion... ^^
Reader 137 You must be so, so angry ㅜㅜㅜ If you get revision surgery, you can become pretty again.
Reader 138 That must be so upsetting... It would probably be better to do the revision at a different hospitalㅜ
Reader 139 I've never done it so I don't know, but I'd probably just go to a different hospital..
Reader 140 Before the revision, I recommend removing the eyelid liner tattoo... Your current double-eyelid line and your eyeliner design don't match each other, so the condition looks even worse. And I absolutely don't recommend doing a second revision at the place that already failed you. That level of skill isn't going anywhere..
Reader 141 Let's go to a different hospital..
Reader 142 I have sausage eyes right now too, so I need to get a second revision, but finding hospital info is really hard. There seem to be way too many brokers.
Reader 143 I can really feel how upset you were..ㅠ You are already pretty enough now, and I hope if you do it again it turns out exactly how you want.
Reader 144 It must be so upsetting... ㅠㅠ I hope your second revision goes well at a good hospital!
Reader 145 Oh my.. I really hope your second revision goes well at a good hospital ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
Reader 146 If you have multiple revision surgeries on your eyes, it’ll be difficult even if the scars are removed, but your eyes now aren’t bad either ㅠ
Reader 147 Let’s go to another clinicㅠㅠ Your original eyes were just so pretty; they’re not extreme-case eyes.
Reader 148 I think your eyes now are pretty too?
Reader 149 This is a private post.
Reader 150 Wow, you must be really upset. I also had revision surgery by full incision and I’m regretting it so much ㅠㅠ Let’s look carefully for a clinic and make sure to recover well ㅠㅠ
Reader 151 Honestly, I think it’s because your eyes are too small compared with the double eyelid. The outer corners are also too upturned... If you make the horizontal length of the eyes themselves even a little longer with posterior canthoplasty or puppy-eye surgery, I think it would look better, but to call it a double eyelid surgery problem is a bit...
Reader 152 Your eyes before surgery were pretty...
Reader 153 I think your old eyes were pretty tooㅠㅠ
ㅅㄷㅅㄷㄱ Aww, that must be so upsetting ㅜㅜ
라이뮤 I think it would be better to look into another clinic for revision ㅠㅠ I hope you find a good clinic and everything gets resolved well
nnororo I recommend going to a different clinic......ㅠㅠ
누누눙누 Think about a way to remove the eyeliner tattoo too. I've only had double-eyelid surgery three times, and after the last surgery I removed my eyeliner tattoo. Maybe because the swelling went down in the meantime, my eye shape got better. But I heard removing eyeliner tattoos is painful, so I went to the most famous place and had it done about five times, and it ended up costing about the same as double-eyelid surgery...
바람바 I also noticed this from reviews, but a lot of people do buried-suture and incisional methods in completely different ways. The incisional method must be a much harder surgery.
에드가드가 Gasp ㅠㅠ That sounds so upsetting, hope it gets resolved well ㅠㅠ
우파루파vv That must be so upsetting ㅠㅠ
ddddy That must be really upsetting ..ㅠㅠ
뉸보키 I think you should remove the eyeliner tattoo and look into another clinic. It seems like they set the crease too high because of the sagging eyelid skin ㅠ
Upgrace I also had revision surgery, and right before the operation I said I wanted a semi-out line, but the line ended up too high and the two sides became uneven, so it was really hard. They told me to wait because it was swelling, so I waited 2 years, but it stayed the same, so I eventually had revision surgery again. Luckily, they lowered the line and it seems like the surgery worked well with an in-line. They said the two sides had no choice but to end up with different line heights. Still, the shape is much better than before. There are a lot of revision surgery clinics on YouTube, so I hope you research well and find a good clinic!
고망82 That must be so upsetting.. If it's a second revision, I think it would be better to go to a place that specializes in lowering revision lines rather than the same clinic.
바비바비5678 It looks like the line is high, so I think lowering it would be better.ㅠㅠ
제발마지막하 I think it'd be better to go to a different clinic ㅠㅠ
