Honest 3-month review after nose surgery I had surgery on May 10, and I brought a very honest review. • Materials: nasal tip - autologous rib cartilage, bridge - very thin silicone • Pain and daily life: There is absolutely no pain at the rib area or the nose! But I still do not have sensation in the nasal tip when I touch it. The director said the time it takes for sensation to return varies by person, so it will gradually come back. + ) Starting from the 2-month mark, my nasal tip kept turning red, so I worried it might be inflammation and went to the hospital once. If there is pain, it is more likely to be inflammation, but since I had no pain at all, they said the returning sensation nerves can cause blood to pool and make it red. I was so scared at first... but now the redness has decreased a lot!
• Scar status Nose scar: The incision and columella scars have healed a lot, and unless you look closely, they are faint enough that you would not notice them. Autologous rib scar: The harvest scar on the rib area is still there, but I am continuing to manage it with ointment, so I think it will fade more over time.
• Shape and satisfaction: What I worried about most was, 'What if it is too much or looks obvious?' But as the swelling went down, the line settled exactly how I wanted it. My friends say every time they see it, 'It came out really naturally and well,' and 'It looks just like your original nose,' so I am relieved.. 🥹 Honestly, the columella area still seems a bit long, but they said if it gets any shorter from here, it could look like an upturned nose, so I am satisfied with this shape. If you are considering autologous rib cartilage, I think as long as you get through the early recovery period well, the support is good and the shape settles nicely, so there is no need to worry too much!
