Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

My mom’s removal surgery for nasal silicone that had been in place for almost 30 years

My mom had silicone inserted in her 20s to raise her low nose, which had always stressed her out, but no one in the family, not even my dad, knew about it. After almost 30 years, her nose started to become crooked. In her own way, she tried to fix the crookedness by squeezing and fiddling with it with her hands every day, and eventually, from the front, her nose looked crooked in an S shape. On top of that, the intraocular pressure in the eye on the side where the silicone had bent became elevated, which caused a retinal problem and decreased vision, so she ended up having eye surgery that cost around 8 million won, I think. Eventually, she said she was going to have revision rhinoplasty at a hospital recommended by someone she knew, but when she went for a consultation, they said that because her nose was so low, even if silicone was inserted again, it would become crooked again like nowㅠㅠ So in the end, she decided to just have it removed, and after she recovered, she would either get filler or, if the stress was severe, have surgery, and that was settled! This was about 7 years ago, but seeing her stressed about her nose for all 7 years, I’m thinking of looking into hospitals.. What’s fortunate is that she left it like that for so long without revision surgery, to the point that even her eye developed a problem, but I do think it’s lucky that contracture didn’t occurㅋㅋ She originally had somewhat of a beautiful look, but after removing the implant, she became more ordinary-looking, though everyone in our family tells her she’s pretty~
