Um, first of all, I’ll say in advance that I’m keeping removal in mind. And if anyone is planning rhinoplasty, please use this as reference. I’m writing this to help people who worry a lot and are sensitive like me. 1. Rhinoplasty pain I had my hump shaved down, silicone inserted, and ear cartilage used for the nasal tip. It was done under sleep anesthesia followed by local anesthesia. I’m extremely dramatic about pain, but honestly, it didn’t hurt.. After the sleep anesthesia, I had dizziness and nausea, but fortunately I didn’t throw up. You must not vomit after surgery. If vomit goes up toward the nose, it can cause inflammation. Actually, after surgery my ear hurt a bit.. My ear still hurts a little now ㅜ 2. Swelling Seriously, because of this I cried every day for a month. If you’re really sensitive, don’t get rhinoplasty.. I’ve calmed down a bit now, but for the first 2 weeks I really looked like Avatar, and honestly, even now that it’s been over a month, there’s still swelling so it looks awkward.. When I think about how much stress I went through because of this, I feel like I shouldn’t have done it. But if you’re sensitive, just close your eyes and try to endure exactly 1 month. I hope you focus on something other than your nose. 3. Pros and cons First, the pros are that the hump that stressed me out is gone. My mouth protrudes slightly, but it doesn’t look protruded anymore. And,, this is kind of amazing, though a bit embarrassing, but I had some bad breath. My mom also told me every day that my breath smelled,,ㅜㅜ So I was sensitive about it and brushed my teeth four times a day, and even when I paid attention to it, it was the same. I went to the dentist and got scaling too, and I was really stressed about it, but after rhinoplasty, my bad breath completely disappeared -_-:: Actually, early after rhinoplasty I couldn’t brush my teeth properly, but they say the smell that used to happen even after brushing like that doesn’t happen at all after rhinoplasty. Maybe my bad breath wasn’t because of my teeth, but because of my nose. I had a bit of rhinitis.. My mom said that even though my nose turned out strange, since my breath doesn’t smell, the rhinoplasty was a good decision lololol ㅜㅜ There are quite a lot of cons though...ㅜㅜ First, I don’t like the shape of my nose. My nostril wings are slightly uneven...ㅜ When I go outside in winter, the tip of my nose turns red ㅠ In photos, the silicone is super obvious. There’s still major swelling between my eyebrows. The nasal tip is hard, even though it’s ear cartilage. And.. why is the inside of my nose so itchy? Even if I gently scratch it with a cotton swab, it’s still itchy.. I also have a runny nose every day. It’s uncomfortable.. That’s about all I can think of.. In conclusion, sensitive people, let’s not get rhinoplasty!! And if you already did, wait a bit. Do other things and stop paying attention to your nose. They say it takes 6 months to look natural. I’m thinking about removal because I don’t like the shape of my nose and it’s uncomfortable, though. Still, I’m going to complete 6 months.. Everyone who got rhinoplasty, let’s hang in there in 2012 ^^! Even if it’s hard and exhausting, don’t lose hope!
