It has been 39 days since my nose surgery and cat surgery. I had cat surgery at the same time as my nose surgery, and AlloDerm was placed under the philtrum of my nose. From the side, the line is definitely pretty and has been corrected, but from the front it feels a little awkward... and when I smile... it feels like I can’t smile well, almost like wearing dentures? It is not ugly to the point of being hideous, but there is a foreign-body sensation and it looks a little awkward. It feels thick when pressed. So I am planning to have it removed... I also heard that AlloDerm can be absorbed a bit, so I will first go for a removal consultation this weekend. Has anyone here had it removed... or had cat surgery? I was not interested in cat surgery from the beginning, nor did I know anything about it... I had no information at all. The doctor just recommended it during my nose consultation and said they could do it together... I just went ahead without any information. I was told a prosthetic about the size of a fingernail would be inserted, that it would barely show, and that there would be no side-effect concerns. But now that I think about it, it does not seem like it was just a fingernail-sized implant... it feels a bit bulky;;; After surgery, the side profile looks good... but from the front it feels awkward, and even when I smile it feels awkward. Also, there is a bit of a foreign-body sensation. It feels a little like wearing dentures? Not severe, just a little. Anyway, smiling is the most awkward part. My upper lip does not lift up ㅋㅋ;;; It also feels hard when I touch it with my hand. Maybe it is because it has only been a month so far, or maybe it will always be like this... but there is no swelling. I heard AlloDerm is an implant that gets absorbed to some extent. Has anyone experienced this?
Some people say that after about 3 months, it becomes much more natural... If they tell me next weekend at the consultation that it will stay like this, I plan to have it removed..
