It’s been about 2 and a half years since I had rhinoplasty, and I had surgery with 5 mm silicone on the nasal bridge and ear cartilage at the nasal tip! I have basically no nasal bridge and a wide, spread-out noseㅠㅠ One side of my nose was uncomfortable, so my daily life was completely ruined because of anxiety about inflammation and contracture... I decided on complete removal and went into the operating room, but during surgery I saw myself after everything had been completely removed and was shocked, so I had the ear cartilage put back in...ㅠㅠ From the beginning, the doctor said there was no problem with autologous cartilage, but I insisted that I wanted everything removed, so we did it with an open approach. If it was going to be like this, I should have done it with a closed approachㅠㅠㅠ Maybe because the nasal tip was left as it is now, my nose before and after rhinoplasty is completely different, but people don’t seem to notice much of a difference, and there’s less upturning than I expected, so I’m living thinking that’s fortunateㅠㅠ The doctor said that removing it isn’t the problem, but that from now on, after removing it, I need to manage it well so problems don’t happen, so I’m going to keep watching it more! It was really hard because I was anxious about not knowing what would happen if I removed it, and anxious about what side effects might come later if I didn’t remove it. But now that I actually removed it, even if I look uglier, I feel relievedㅠㅠㅠ What makes me angry is that I removed it because one side was uncomfortable, but that area is still uncomfortable..ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Still, I’m going to be satisfied that I won’t have anxious things about silicone anymoreㅠㅠ After all the swelling goes down, if I feel the nasal tip is a bit high, I’ll either correct it or something, and I’m thinking of getting filler once after three monthsㅋㅋㅋ
Everyone who is worrying about nose removal, I hope you all make the choice that fits you, and once you decide, don’t regret it and trust your own choice! If a problem happens, let’s find a new plan then! How about thinking that way!?? Since we have more days ahead to live than the days we’ve already lived, I hope making a quick choice will reduce the time you spend worrying about your nose and let you have happy days!
