I hadn’t been planning to get revision double-eyelid surgery, but I originally had ptosis, so during my first double-eyelid surgery, I also had incisional ptosis correction done at the same time. I think the ptosis correction, which was my original goal, turned out well, but I guess getting both eyes perfectly even with this kind of correction is really difficult. It was overcorrected, so my eyes became like rabbit eyes, and I had to do it again. Director Kim Sang-heon said that with ptosis correction, you really have to keep watching the progress for a longer time. He said that depending on how the muscles are used, the side you initially think is overcorrected may actually become the side you like later, and conversely, if the muscle in the other eye is used less, the side that was corrected less may end up looking like it opens less. But now that about 300 days have passed, it really did turn out that way.. So this is a surgery where you need to follow the progress for quite a long time. As for the result, I’m so happy that the sleepy-looking eyes from not opening enough disappeared. They were also very thorough with aftercare, and they scheduled a separate follow-up appointment after surgery where I could directly ask and consult with the doctor about whether my surgery had gone well, so I felt their aftercare was better than at other clinics. Since it was revision surgery, there was an additional cost, so I think the ptosis correction and double-eyelid surgery together came out to around 2.8 million won. But here, ptosis correction is done as a surgery involving stitches and stitch removal and so on, so there is honestly some burden to going straight into revision surgery just because the eyes are a little uneven. I’ve heard there are other places where ptosis correction has no swelling right away, no stitches to remove, and they can do it immediately and adjust the balance of uneven eyes multiple times. If I had known, I feel like I might have done it there.
