I had LASIK in 2020, and because I did it together with my biological older sister, we got a big discount! The place I went to had things like a morning surgery discount, referral discount, immediate-family discount, and so on, so after discounts I did it for a little over 2 million won. My older sister's vision was very poor, so she also had vision-enhancement surgery, and I think it cost around 2.5 million won. I had LASIK, and only on the day the anesthesia wore off did my eyeballs ache a bit, then I was fine right away. But my sister's eyeballs hurt even the next day, so she had a hard time ㅠ I think my sister also had mostly recovered from day 3. For a few days, I had to make sure water didn't get into my eyes and that I didn't rub them unconsciously, so at home I mostly lived wearing goggle glasses(?) I had slight corneal damage from long-term contact lens use, so after the exam I had surgery a week later, but my sister did it the same day and I think she got an additional discount. The exam took about 2-3 hours including waiting time ㅠ While waiting, I looked at the hospital brochure and saw cases where the doctors had operated on their own children and parents, so I think it felt trustworthy. Right after surgery, my vision came out as 1.5, and so far I've continued maintaining 1.0 (they said my corneas are thick, so I could have LASIK one more time ㅎ). Sometimes my eyes are dry, and when it's windy there are times my eyes tear up, but it's not to the point that it interferes with daily life. It only happens once or twice occasionally, so I'm just living with it.
