I had SMILE LASIK before, when I was on terminal leave from the military. The surgery took less than 30 minutes, and I had it done with the Extra add-on. If you keep your eyes open, they sweep everything away once, and then put in yellow eye drops?? That is the Extra part, and they put in something like a medication that strengthens the cornea. I came out right after the surgery, and my vision was blurry but there was no pain. Then I took the bus home with my parents, slept for about an hour, and when I woke up around the time we arrived and opened my eyes, I could see well! I diligently used the eye drops and the ointment, and since my vision was extremely bad to begin with, the expected vision was about 0.8. It came out around 0.8-0.9, and now that 5-6 years have passed, I think it is around 0.7-0.8. I have not been using artificial tears lately..!!
