It’s been over 3 months since I had my nose done, but I feel a bit embarrassed to post photos like other people.. I wrote this because I wanted to share how it felt after surgery For the rhinoplasty itself, I had silicone inserted, the hump shaved down, and the nasal tip done with autologous costal cartilage Even when I first went for the consultation, my nasal tip was a little droopy, so overall it had that Squidward-like nose feeling I said I didn’t like either the front or side view, so I looked for a place that recommended nasal materials well to improve it as much as possible and make a noticeable change, and had the surgery there For about 1-2 weeks after surgery, the swelling was really severe, so my nasal tip looked like a Moai statue and I was a little startled Now the swelling has gone down a lot, and the line is starting to settle The nasal tip is still slightly hard and there is still some swelling left But I’m so satisfied with the overall contour and bridge line that my stress has really decreased a lot.. I really think I made the right choice having rhinoplasty Honestly, autologous costal cartilage scared me at first, and I was worried about the scar too, but once I actually did it, recovery was faster than I expected, and the scar seemed to have faded a lot compared to the early stage. But I’m planning to keep checking it consistently If I write the recovery period as a timeline Week 1, I barely went out because of swelling + bruising (honestly also because the splint felt stuffy) From week 2, the bruising under the nose had also started to fade, and since there was no splint, it was manageable to go around By weeks 3-4, the swelling had gone down a lot, so there was no problem with daily life Even now, there is still a slight pulling sensation at the nasal tip, but it’s definitely much less than at first They said I need to watch it for about 6 months for it to settle completely, so I’m still keeping an eye on it It feels like it improved into the glamorous nose I wanted, so people around me have been telling me a lot that it turned out well The nasal bridge line is truly exactly the height and direction I wanted, so I’m very satisfied. Especially the part where the hump was shaved down and smoothed out really.. changed the whole mood of my face Now if I contour, my nose actually looks too much lol, so I don’t contour and usually just do base makeup before going out. In many ways, I feel less stressed than before They said it will look even more natural as the swelling in the nasal tip goes down, so I’m looking forward to that. The nasal tip is still a bit firm and I notice it when making facial expressions, but I heard autologous costal cartilage usually takes a while to recover, so I’m not worrying too much~~ With plastic surgery, waiting it out is the answer.. This was something I worried about a lot before surgery, so I wrote this for anyone who is considering autologous costal cartilage even though it’s their first time, like me, as a reference
