Nose Surgery Reviews@rhino-review

My 6-year rhinoplasty experience and review, my 6th surgery

I’m posting this in case it helps even a little to people who are scheduled for surgery, or who are dealing with side effects or dissatisfaction with any surgical outcomeㅠ I had rhinoplasty 6 years ago when I was 21 Actually, my nose was already somewhat high, I had only a very slight hump, and it was a bit bulbous, but it was a pretty decent nose in my own way. Still, it was a little crooked and the tip was slightly drooping, so I decided to have surgery. Before the operation, I rushed because I just wanted to get it done quickly and be finished with it, without even having time to shop around and look for a clinic...ㅠ I had a consultation at a plastic surgery clinic in Busan. I said I was worried about the crooked nose and the bulbous tip... and that doctor... He touched and examined my nose from every angle, then, as if he were absolutely certain... with a greasy smile, he said he would make my nose really cute (slice down the hump, 1 mm silicone, and slightly lift the tip) I believed him... and that empty clinic, apparently with no reservation patients at all, set my surgery date for the very next day. I... didn’t sleep a wink that nightㅜㅜ(because I was nervous) Then the next day I went in at 10 o’clock for surgery... and a thought flashed through my mind. It was a surgery I was secretly getting done without my family knowing, and I suddenly thought about getting torn apart by my parents afterward, and also... what if it turns out badly after the surgery... all these unnecessary thoughts kept rushing in. I usually have pretty good instincts, so... just as I was lying down in the operating room and about to prepare for surgery, I changed my mind and told the director that I absolutely couldn’t go through with it, so I wanted to cancel and have my money refunded. Hearing that, the doctor suddenly put on a cold expression and said, "Nurse~~ please help the patient relax a bit~~~" and when the nurse heard that, she suddenly said, "This will sting~" and then stuck a shot into my arm.....At that moment I lost consciousness.....When I woke up, the situation had already gone beyond the point of no return. So a few months later, contrary to the doctor who had said he would make my nose cute, I ended up with a terrible... upturned nose.. From that point on, I had to fight through a very lonely, long time. At 21, after the surgery at that Busan clinic above, I ended up with an upturned nose. At 23, I had a second upturned-nose correction at a plastic surgery clinic in Busan.(the existing 1 mm silicone was carved and replaced with 3 mm, the tip was raised with ear cartilage, the nose was lengthened, and the lifted tip was brought down) Actually, this clinic also had no homepage... the coordinator was rude, and the clinic was full of flies, but the doctor seemed confident about my nose, so I trusted him and went ahead. In the early stage after surgery, the lifted nose did improve and there was some progress, but about a year later it lifted again and became very strange. In the end, at 25, I had surgery at a clinic in Busan famous for noses, using the remaining ear cartilage (the silicone height was adjusted from 3 mm to 1 mm, and the tip was also corrected with ear cartilage to fix the upturned nose..). There was a clear improvement and it was fine, but later... because of the foreign-body sensation (I was overreacting for no reason...ㅜ), I had the doctor remove the 1 mm silicone despite his opposition, and afterward about one-third of it contracted. It was filled with filler, but it wasn’t as pretty as when the silicone had been removed. Then, in November at age 26, I had the tip lowered again with donated (imported) rib cartilage and raised the bridge a little more, with silicone replaced from 1 mm to 2 mm... But I already had a high glabella and not much space between my eyes, and then I stretched the nose long too. Since my bridge was already relatively high, placing 2 mm there made my eyes look close together, my face looked longer, older, and more hollow. I waited almost a year like that, but my whole impression looked too old, cold, and hollow, so this time, 3 weeks ago, I had only the silicone replaced to 1 mm again. The swelling is still a little left, but my nose looks neat, and I think it has improved quite a lot into the cute and likable look I had before..I only lowered it by 1 mm, but the result is quite positive. Anyway, counting all the repeat surgeries, silicone removal, and replacement, I went through six nose surgeries... and I regret so much that I wasted that heaven-sent precious time by throwing it all away on cosmetic surgery. But now I really don’t want to do it again..and I also like the current improved shape, so I’m thinking I won’t have surgery again... I really posted consultation questions everywhere, and I know all too well because I’ve had so many surgeries myself... but still, it feels like the same as not being able to read your own fortune, even if you’re a shaman? Even though you know, even though you can roughly imagine how it will settle and what kind of result it will have, you still get anxious and overreact. I was comforted by doctors’ replies and by experienced people’s replies, and that’s how I got through it. This post is too long, right? From here on, it’s advice and lessons from my own experience. 1. Don’t imagine that you’ll change dramatically like something out of a dream. - Really... the people who turn out amazing are those who may not have been pretty before surgery, but once one area is corrected and improved, other areas also start to look more dimensional like a butterfly effect, and they end up looking amazing. Those cases are rare... For most people, just having one nose surgery doesn’t suddenly make you look completely different, like a celebrity, or make you prettier or handsomer. Rather than holding onto those dreamy expectations, after surgery even if the result is a little less satisfying than you hoped, at least you’ll be able to live with gratitude for becoming better than before... 2. Before surgery, spend a proper period of time shopping around and researching clinics. - This is very important..Even if it’s annoying, it’s a course you absolutely have to go through. Post consultation questions everywhere, look into many clinics thoroughly, go for consultations, and keep doing that until you have real confidence. 3. Communicate sufficiently with the doctor. - This is one of the most important things... Bring photos of Song Hye-kyo or draw a picture and show it. Some people may think bringing celebrity photos and showing the nose you want is funnier, but in my case, the director understood much better what kind of nose I wanted. Ah... like this? This feeling? That’s how he understood it. Of course, asking for a really low bulbous nose to look like Song Hye-kyo is unrealistic, but if you show celebrity photos or draw the nose line you want and say that even if it can’t be exactly that, you want something as close as possible in that line, that feeling, that image, the doctor will try his best. But... if the nose you want is absolutely not the kind of nose that can be achieved, then you should work together to design a nose that suits what the doctor is aiming for and have a detailed discussion until you reach an agreement. There is definitely a point where you can understand each other. (I always wrote down what I wanted on a memo pad, so during consultations I could express myself clearly without trembling or getting too nervous..And I openly showed celebrity photos on the doctor’s PC and said honestly that I wanted that kind of feeling, and then the doctor looked at photos of my nose and the nose I wanted and adjusted them, saying this can be done, that one is difficult.) And another thing is that you must listen carefully to the doctor’s words, and also make sure to tell the doctor exactly what you want to say. Especially with busy doctors who are a bit vague, you have to make it clear or they won’t rememberㅎㅎㅎㅎㅎ 4. The period after surgery for swelling to go down and everything to settle. -People’s body types and skin characteristics all seem different. Of course they are different. There are people whose swelling goes down almost completely in just a few days, people who lose it within a month, people for whom it lasts 2 or 3 months up to a year, or people for whom it all goes down after 2 years, and so on. Taking everyone into account, it seems that the average period for about 90-95% of the remaining swelling to go down is around 3 months, and it seems to take about 1 year for scar tissue and the tissue itself to settle properly. There is even talk that it takes 3 years for cells to become fully stable.. So for those whose swelling goes down quickly, maybe it’s because they were born that way, or because of their condition at the time, or because of some form of aftercare; but for those who suffer because swelling lasts longer or things don’t settle, please manage it up to 3 months. For swelling, use herbal medicine, pumpkin juice, corn silk tea, other herbal teas or flower teas, and also warm compresses. For those with scar tissue, manage it from the beginning with scar tissue prevention medicine or occasional injections, and if you’re already past the early stage, keep doing massage for 1 to 2 months, or give it a bit more time and go through the maturation process of the scar tissue. If you spend all day on the internet looking up information and reading the same posts over and over, the answer will come out. 5. The purpose of nose surgery - For those who had surgery because they were dissatisfied with the shape of their nose, I think the biggest effect is improving the overall image, not just the shape of the nose itself.....Above all, harmony matters. After nose surgery, if you look only at the nose, it may seem so-so, but strangely, the overall facial image becomes better, or even much prettier. But if you look only at the nose, it may be amazingly pretty, yet the overall impression or facial image looks older, harsher, more hollow, less attractive, or unnatural.. Which would you choose?? If the nose itself is pretty and the overall look is also prettier, there’s nothing more to wish for, and that would really be amazing. But still, you need to focus more on improving the overall image. A slight dissatisfaction with the nose shape can be touched up a little, or improved to some extent with filler (though you have to keep getting it, which is inconvenient), or with makeup. But if the image itself is damaged, that can become extremely stressful, and in severe cases lead to depression, a strange change in personality (irritability, anger, shyness, social avoidance, etc.), and in worse cases even suicidal thoughts... And if you keep thinking about revision surgery again and again and feeling conflicted, then among 10 honest friends, give more weight to the opinion of 6 or 7 or more who honestly say yes... If you are not someone who can look at yourself after surgery with a truly detailed and objective eye, I think it also helps to get honest, cold evaluations from other people. And for those who are somewhat satisfied after surgery, but still think because they’re greedy... "Should I just fix a little more??" then, if possible, be satisfied with how you are now. Don’t burn or tear up all your old photos. Keep one or two, and whenever you want to become prettier than you are now and start feeling greedy, take out your old photos and look at them from time to time... your greed will disappear in an instantㅎ Anyway, my words were way too long, right?? These days so many posts are being uploaded about silicone removal, revision surgery, or dissatisfaction with the shape, so I wrote this hoping it might offer a little comfort or help. And don’t just rely on one cosmetic surgery site, but join several communities and read the posts objectively. These days, there are a lot of posts on this community about bad results after surgery, revision surgery, silicone removal, or, like me, replacement. People who are just about to have surgery, or who are conflicted about their current shape, may end up making mistakes because of crowd psychology... People who would have become sufficiently pretty after surgery may give up on surgery, or remove it just because others do, or even get revision surgery again for no reason... Those sites can have a lot of gloomy reviews posted depending on the timing, so thinking, "If I have surgery, will I also change badly or ruin it like that?" can create prejudice against surgery and unnecessary worries you don’t even need to have before surgery. There are so many people who had surgery and have been living beautifully for years and decades, doing well or turning out amazing!! So... always look at things objectively and broadly, and make up your mind carefully, whether it’s your first surgery or a revision. Anyway... in the end, surgery is something the doctor does, but you yourself must become one with that doctor through sufficiently detailed consultation... and you need both an objective view and your own detailed personal eye, and you must not be too greedy or drenched in dreams and think that tomorrow you’ll be reborn as Kim Tae-hee, Son Ye-jin, or Song Hye-kyo. The most important thing in nose surgery is harmony..There are many people whose eyes or noses are much prettier than Kim Tae-hee’s..but when the Creator puts those features together, that proportion and feeling is quite rare even among people prettier than Kim Tae-hee. Everyone, have courage. Modern medicine is continuously advancing... Cosmetic medicine too. I always think there is a path. Just as after falling, getting hurt, and bleeding, you pay more attention so you won’t fall again and hurt yourself less, I believe that because of how much pain you went through after surgery... and how much you suffered alone during that long, lonely time without being able to honestly tell anyone what was in your heart, your heart will grow by another handspan, and next time you will definitely judge more carefully and see better results... And for those who are about to have surgery, don’t get impatient or fall into excessive worry and fantasy. Rather, pray that it fits your image and the harmony of your face well, consult sufficiently with the doctor, and when you really think that if you do it, it will probably get better than this, then get the surgery with a positive mindset..Don’t be scared. I think a certain amount of pain, time, and money that you have to endure is a rite of passage.. Anyway, I believe that everyone who is in the middle of the butterfly’s transformation, or everyone who is suffering emotionally, will have time ahead to become even better!! I hope everyone in this community becomes more improved, prettier, and handsomer. I hope this community becomes a doll factory!ㅎ Everyone, become prettier tomorrow than you are today^^
