It has been a little while since the surgery, but when I tried to sit down and write this, I kept getting lazy... Then today I suddenly felt like writing it, so here I am lol First of all, I had surgery with 4 mm silicone + septal cartilage + donated costal cartilage + bulbous nose correction. My pre-op condition was: low nasal bridge + wide bulbous nose + lifted columella + short nose...ㅜㅜ In photos, my philtrum always looked long, and when I smiled, my nasal tip lifted too, making my impression look really stuffy. Especially from the front, my nose had no three-dimensional definition, so my whole face looked spread out, and I hated that the most... I told the director that I hated my bulbous nose and that I would be happy if just the spread-out feeling were improved a bit. Originally, he said we should use septal cartilage~ and if there wasn’t enough septal cartilage, he said we would use donated costal cartilage in the operating room. In the end, because there wasn’t enough septal cartilage.. haha we used donated costal cartilage. (1) Right after surgery~swelling Honestly, on the first day, when I looked in the mirror… all I could think was, why did I do this? lol My glabella and nasal tip were all swollen, and my eyes wouldn’t open fully, so it felt a little scary? But after 3 days, the swelling went down a bit and I became human again. But pain? There was almost none, surprisingly. Especially at first, the glabella felt a bit high, but now, as the swelling goes down, it is settling to fit my face shape just right. It took about 2 weeks for the swelling between my eyebrows to go down, and I barely bruised, but the nasal tip did feel slightly red.... The swelling went down faster than I expected.. I think the major swelling lasted about one to two weeks. As time passed, sensation in the nasal tip also came back a lot, and the hard feeling when I touch it is gradually decreasing. (2) Surgery difficulty & pain Honestly, should I say it barely hurt? It was tolerable. For about a day right after surgery, there was a dull throbbing feeling, but after that it was more of a heavy sensation than pain. When I talked, it felt like my nose resonated? When I laughed or coughed, it resonated as if something were pulling, so that bothered me until I got used to it. Since it was a septal cartilage + donated costal cartilage combination, I was scared it would hurt a lot, but the pain was definitely bearable. What was actually harder was nasal congestion when waking up and sleeping with my mouth open.. lol (3) Results & line changes It has now been a little over a month since surgery. The line is not completely stabilized yet, but the overall mood has pretty much settled. From the front, because a center formed at the nasal tip, it feels like my face has a center now? Before, only my eyes stood out, but now I can clearly feel that the gaze is caught once at the nose. Even though the nasal bridge is 4 mm, it looks as natural as if there were no implant, and the height is moderately set, so it doesn’t look artificial. The nasolabial angle was lowered too, so the lifted-looking impression I had before is gone. What I’m most satisfied with is the nasal tip.... The bulbous nose is almost not visible anymore, and the shape that lifted when I smiled has also been corrected, so the fact that I don’t have to turn my head when taking photos is seriously such a win haha I’m satisfied because the line rose just right for my face without looking excessive, and I plan to keep going to the clinic for follow-up until it stabilizes !!!
