In conclusion, the surgery turned out very well, and people who don’t know my original face well or aren’t very interested (mostly older men or people I’m not close with) wouldn’t even know I had plastic surgery. It’s not that there’s no difference from before; there is definitely a change. Everyone who sees me says it turned out well. Even people who can’t say empty compliments all said it turned out really well, so I’m satisfied. There was some waiting, and the process went in the order of washing my face and signing the surgical consent form (consultation room) - consultation (exam room) - surgery (operating room). (There was waiting in between as well.) In the exam room, I had the final consultation and designed the line. As soon as I went in, they took a picture of the chart with a camera and took before photos of my face. They told me to say anything I wanted to say (probably requests), but since I liked the design during the consultation, I didn’t say much. After leaving the exam room, I thought I would change into surgical clothes or that there would be something else, but after a short while they told me to go straight into the operating room. The nurse disinfected my face first and gave 4 local anesthetic injections per eye. The surgery proceeded comfortably while making small talk with the director. As soon as the surgery ended, they didn’t exactly say, “Oh, they’re uneven!” but they said they were uneven as if they had noticed something, which was annoying.. And they said it couldn’t be helped because of facial asymmetry (it is pretty severe), then suddenly said, “You know that too, right?” so I wondered if they were trying to cover themselves, which felt a bit off.. And they said the smaller eye originally needed an incision, so I was like, what is this again.. (When I had first asked about that same part during the consultation, they said it was fineㅡㅡ) The thickness is different, but the inner-front shape and overall feeling are similar, and even before double eyelid surgery, the larger eye was bigger, so I don’t have major dissatisfaction about the asymmetry. Since the surgery turned out natural, I think a little asymmetry actually looks more natural and good. The bruising was not severe and disappeared cleanly within 3-4 days. From days 7-8, the swelling seemed to get very close to the look I wanted, and after day 10, even the morning swelling became acceptable to me. I went to have the stitches removed on day 5, but they didn’t take after photos lol. Since day 5 wasn’t the completed eye shape, I’m not sure if they only didn’t take mine because it was somehow below expectations, or if they don’t take them for everyone. I even took time off work after surgery so I wouldn’t overdo it (I have to keep lowering my head), but when I mentioned that, they said I could work and asked why I did that. I think they would consider people who sleep sitting up after double eyelid surgery to be totally overdoing it. Surgery office workers can do during lunch break, quick return to daily life, that seemed to be the concept of quick burial double eyelid surgery, and I thought they were worthy of being pioneers of quick burial. I thought follow-ups were mandatory at every hospital.. but they said there wasn’t a separate time to come in. However, they said I could come in anytime if I wanted. Since there’s no follow-up check, I feel like if a situation came up where I had to make a complaint, I might feel a little self-conscious. It’s a private clinic, but they seem to handle a factory-style schedule. There are always at least 3 people in the waiting room. It’s definitely a hospital with many surgeries and a lot of people seeking it out.
