Hello! I’m sharing a real review of double jaw + contouring surgery at Yang Yundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery! A 3-line summary of the surgery process 1. I needed orthodontic treatment 2. The orthodontic clinic said I needed double jaw surgery, but I had no money 3. Got money, so double jaw + facial contouring ^^ First of all, when I visited the orthodontic clinic 5 years ago because my bite was so off, they said my jaw length didn’t match and that I would need double jaw surgery. Back then I was very young, so I was getting orthodontic treatment with my parents’ support, and I felt guilty even bringing up the idea of a 5 million-won range, so how could I talk about a 10 million-won range ㅠㅅㅠ When I asked whether there was any other way besides double jaw surgery, I ended up choosing extraction followed by orthodontic treatment. But because my bite was so bad, 4 years passed in the blink of an eye, and after becoming a working adult, I had a bit more financial room, so I couldn’t wait out the remaining orthodontic period and ended up getting double jaw surgery Around the time I made up my mind, everyone looks it up a lot on YouTube, right~ But I also have fairly severe facial asymmetry, and I heard that double jaw surgery and facial contouring have the same incision area? So I thought I’d just do it all at once, get it over with in one painful go, and fix it, so I had both done together. Ah! Even though I had braces, this was new orthodontic treatment, so it was presurgical surgery, postsurgical orthodontics. Days 1-3 This is the period from surgery to discharge. When I woke up, the expression that it felt like a truck had run over my face seems to fit well I’m not someone who tolerates sleep deprivation well, and I usually sleep a lot and am quite lazy, so at that time, and I’m not exaggerating, I think I slept almost the entire 48 hours of the 3-day hospitalization, except for 2-3 hours There were people who were worried and scolded me a bit, saying I shouldn’t sleep any more But I’m the type who thinks sleep is the top priority no matter what, so I just slept ㅎㅅㅎ As for the pain, I’ve always been pretty good at enduring pain, so it just felt numb from my face down to my neck, and kind of floaty like when I had COVID. But when it hurts, sleep is the best^^ Ah! At Yang Yundol, they remove the urine catheter before you enter the ward after surgery (I think that’s right), and peeing was the hardest part for me... I screamed, not kidding, and I didn’t drink water because I didn’t want to pee... hehe *Pain level If you said, “Want to do it one more time for free?”, I’d immediately want self-administered anesthesia gas (highly personal) After discharge~1 week My mother kindly came home and brought all kinds of blended foods packed up, like scorched-rice soup, chicken porridge, and rice gruel. For 4-5 days I ate back and forth between something like New Care and porridge. I run a small shop, so from day 4 I worked by going out briefly from time to time to help! Since it’s my own shop, I could come and go freely, so I was fine. The pain was manageable too! *I wore the jaw-support band even while sleeping! *The stitches near the sideburns and cheekbones didn’t hurt, just swish~ Week 2 I wondered if the swelling was going down...? Is it? Or not? I went to work normally and my job involves standing and a lot of activity, so compared to others maybe the swelling went down a bit faster! I was still wearing the jaw-support band and wafer, but the wafer fit me so well that I only wore it for a short time each day! *Stitches removed inside the mouth I’m really someone who can endure pain well, but this was a bit hard. I screamed... I think it was worse because I also had a lot of sharp, pulling pain around my nose... I don’t know about the rest, but honestly this one requires nerves... Week 3 Now you can really see the swelling going down! The hospital also said it had gone down a lot! I’m still at the stage where I have to eat everything blended! At night I blended cereal with milk to eat something simple, and for lunch I blended banquet noodles or udon It was tasty! Week 4 A week without much difference.. Hospital follow-up! Overall one-month review! There is still some residual swelling, so I can’t say for sure yet, but the previously angular parts have become rounder and more pleasant-looking, and my impression definitely seems kinder than before surgery, which I like! Above all, my facial asymmetry has improved a lot, so my nose looks straighter too, and even when taking a photo with the basic camera without any symmetry correction, there’s no sense of disconnect anymore! The end!
