Nose Revision Surgery Consultation Review

1. ㅁㅇㄷ I was told from the phone reservation stage that the consultation waiting time would be long, and there really were a lot of people waiting. After taking a CT scan and photos, the consultant came in first for the consultation, looked at my nose, and said it seemed like they would lower the starting point of the nasal bridge and use autologous costal cartilage. After that, I went into the director’s room and the consultation started. The director said my nose was indeed crooked, and that my nostrils were too large. I had heard from people around me that my nose was crooked, but it was my first time being told anything about my nostrils, so I was a little surprised. But after listening, it seemed like the comment was based on current trends. They drew on a pad while explaining that they would lower the starting point of the nasal bridge and raise the nasal tip. They said they would build up the middle of the nose with donated costal cartilage, and fill the sides with cartilage and autologous dermis. They explained the surgical process in quite a lot of detail, saying they would shave the bone beside the nasal bridge and fill in both sides more, but there was no discussion about the nose shape or height. Since I don’t even have a hump, I wondered if osteotomizing the bone and filling the sides was the director’s style. The surgical process looked too complicated, so I’m thinking about it. There were also many patients waiting for consultations, and the director looked tired, so I didn’t ask more questions. The consultant continued the consultation again. The diagnosis was septum + nasal tip correction + nostril lowering + crooked nose correction + AlloDerm beside the nasal bridge + donated costal cartilage. According to the consultant, the director would explain things in more detail on the day of surgery. They were rather forceful about recommending a same-day deposit, and even though I said I would think about it, they pushed me about three more times. 2. ㄴㅈㄹ In the consultation waiting room, they were playing videos of surgery cases of influencers or foreign patients operated on by the director, so I could feel their confidence. That part was somewhat impressive. I went there because I heard this place was famous for closed rhinoplasty and functional nose surgery, and they said it seemed like sinusitis surgery was definitely needed, and that the clinic would handle the indemnity insurance process on its own. I felt like they were somewhat strongly recommending doing functional nose surgery together. The diagnosis was that my nose was crooked, so they would use autologous costal cartilage, lower the starting point of the nasal bridge, and set the nasal tip at 90 degrees, but there was no detailed explanation of the surgical process, and overall they definitely seemed confident about the surgery. They didn’t consult while looking at my face, but only talked while looking at the CT scan, and when I said I had no questions, the consultation ended right away. They asked if I had any questions, so I just nodded, and then they immediately stood up, which made all the time I had waited feel a bit empty. I received a quote including functional nose surgery, and the surgery fee was really very expensive.
