I went from the U.S. to Korea because of rhinoplasty. I said I only wanted to slightly improve my somewhat sunken-looking nasal bridge + dorsum, and that I absolutely did not want a high nose. During the consultation, I definitely emphasized it over and over again. I didn’t want anything done to the nasal tip. The doctor suggested putting only about 1-2 mm of silicone in the bridge. He clearly said that since I wasn’t raising the tip, he couldn’t raise only the bridge too much, and that he could raise it only 1-2 mm. He said if it were higher, it would look like a parrot. It’s been over two months now, but the glabella area is still extremely swollen and high. From my forehead to my nose, my side profile is completely straight, like a parrot’s beak, and the swelling hasn’t gone down for two months. When I asked the clinic, they said that 4 mm of silicone had been inserted. It was twice as thick as what we talked about during the consultation. I contacted the clinic and made a huge fuss, and I did get an answer that they would do revision surgery for free, but revision surgery isn’t the issue. I don’t want to lie down on the operating table again. More than anything, what makes me furious is that because it was a famous clinic.. I paid as much as 4 million won for a simple first surgery just on the nasal bridge But the consultation details and the actual surgery were different, and judging from the director’s unsure, head-tilting attitude, it feels like a trainee doctor operated on me as an experiment, and I feel so insulted. This was not done by the director who consulted with me right before surgery. There are so many mistakes on the clinic’s side. I don’t even need revision surgery and just want it removed, but having to spend money to go to Korea for removal for a reason that isn’t my fault feels so unfair. I guess I should be prepared to become a complete difficult, crazy patient and request a refund, right- What would you do..? Advice from people with experience, please. Thank you
