It has been a year and a half since my rhinoplasty. I am going to remove the silicone.

I had silicone and septal cartilage surgery. A result that does not look obvious and looks natural is what everyone wants from cosmetic surgery. But when I asked how many millimeters of silicone would be inserted, they said they could not tell me because it would be decided during surgery according to the shape of my nose. Even now, I do not know how many millimeters of silicone are in my nose. Honestly, I am satisfied with the nasal tip. I had a wide, bulbous nose... But not being able to make a pig nose and the stiffness... These may seem like nothing, but I unexpectedly became sensitive to them. There is absolutely none of that softness like before. Putting the nasal tip aside, for the nasal bridge, my face was also asymmetrical and they said I had a dorsal hump I did not know about, but they said it was not something I needed to worry about much, so I did it without osteotomy, and over time it kept getting crooked. But among people who have had rhinoplasty, isn't it harder to find someone whose nose is not crooked... For me, from the side it looks clearly different, so it is not to the point where other people immediately point it out, though. The connection between the glabella and nasal bridge is also unnatural and feels interrupted. The doctor suggested connecting it with autologous fat, but I said I would do it later for now and did not do it, and this also shows more than expected when taking photos or standing somewhere with sunlight. Especially if you are sensitive, you cannot ignore the foreign-body sensation in your nose. I was okay at first too, but sometimes my nose feels so stuffy. For now, I have changed my mind to remove only the silicone first. I am going to think a bit more about the nasal tip because my nasal tip was originally very blunt... I also looked into it carefully in my own way before having surgery, but I think surgery that puts foreign material into the body has to be considered carefully, and then even more carefully, beyond what I had thought. Honestly, no matter how careful you are, you cannot predict the result after surgery, but I think I will feel mentally more comfortable just removing it without worrying a few years later. Those who are planning rhinoplasty, please make sure to look into it thoroughly, and think again and again about whether you really can avoid being bothered by the things I wrote before deciding!
