I had surgery in January and have fully completed 6 months. As the title says, I had 3 mm silicone inserted, a septal support, and the nasal tip raised with ear cartilage and septal cartilage. Now that 6 months have passed, I’ve gotten used to the foreign-body sensation, so it isn’t too severe anymore. My nose was originally very small, so even with 3 mm added, it’s not that uncomfortable From the beginning, I could pronounce “eum-pa” sounds fine, but the columella is stuck tight and doesn’t move at all. Only people who have had a support strut placed would know this horrible feeling, right? Before surgery, I also thought about it far too lightly. If I had known it felt like this, I absolutely would not have done it Beyond the discomfort, the psychological pressure is huge. If the shape had been pretty, I might have been satisfied as if it were my own nose and forgotten everything, but after the splint was removed, I felt something was wrong, and it has stayed that way ever since. The nasal tip is crooked. Asymmetry. The silicone looks shifted to one side It looks worse to other people than when I look in the mirror When someone else takes a frontal photo of me, I’m so startled that I almost cry The hospital is telling me to choose between removal and revision surgery At first, I was afraid of removal and thought about revision surgery, but I don’t know if I’d get a satisfying result after revision, and thinking about living my whole life with such an uncomfortable nose just makes me sighㅠㅜ I will definitely have it removed As for how much it will return to my original nose... Even if it doesn’t return, I’m hoping it will settle into a slightly pretty shape Is that being greedy? My concern is the timing of removal If I do it within July, I worry that the very busy hospital might treat my nose carelessly againㅠㅜ It seems busy because it’s vacation season Also, if contraction starts around Chuseok, I wonder whether I’ll be able to face the elders in my familyㅡㅡ If I remove it at the end of October, the wound recovery period seems better in many ways, but I’m afraid adhesions might progress more during those 3 months Would it be better to remove it even one day sooner?? For those with removal experience, please give me advice. There are so few reviews these days If I get it removed, I’ll leave detailed reviews. Wishing for support and prayers... I hope everything goes well for everyone
