Before before after <day of surgery> after <1 week> after <1 week> after <1 month> after <1 month> before <1 month> after <1 month> It has already been one month since my nose surgery! First of all, I had a low, small nose with a droopy/dragon-like tip, so it was really stressful that my round nostrils were visible from the front.. From the side it looked saggy, and when I took photos, only my nostrils showed ㅠㅠ
I thought about it for about 3 years, went around to 6-7 places for consultations, and had surgery with Director S.J.W. at D.R. Plastic Surgery! Other hospitals, whether they took a CT scan or not, all said I absolutely had to have “septal extension,” and this hospital was the only one that told me that even if septal cartilage is used, at least 10 cm should be left, but I congenitally only had 10 cm to begin with, so I should not use my septum. The director said that when he first took the CT, my septum was so short that he thought I had already had surgery for a deviated septum haha.. Even when I went to a hospital famous for being safe, they still said I absolutely needed septal extension, so I feel like maybe this director was the only one who truly considered my safety. Anyway, if I had gone somewhere else, it could have been a big problem..;;
Also, although my nasal bridge is not particularly high, I had a vague anxiety about implants. As it happened, the director told me rather objectively that because my nose is very short and my septum cannot be used, if silicone were placed in the nasal bridge, there would not be enough material to support the tip! So I used cartilage from both ears and lifted my nasal tip with everything possible! lolol
Day 1 - I remember holding the director’s hand tightly while I was still groggy after waking up from anesthesia and saying thank you lololol haha… Even though it was swollen, I could already feel that the shape was pretty!! Since cartilage was taken from both ears, I was really worried my ears would hurt, but they made the incisions minimally(?) so it honestly did not hurt at all, and there was no cotton packing in my nostrils, so breathing was so comfortable.. When I got home, my family kept saying, “Why are you in such good condition? Stop talking so much,” lololololol that’s how I was haha. I did have some runny nose, but it was not as painful or uncomfortable as I had worried!
Day 2 - When I went to the hospital for disinfection, I was worried it would hurt a lot, but it was just a tolerable stinging pain! They gave me a swelling injection in my butt and I also got an antibiotic IV haha. When the bandage was briefly removed, I saw my nose shape, and although there was some bruising, I already liked it!! It was reassuring and nice that the director showed me a tablet and explained the surgical method in detail~~(that fascia from behind the ear was also used for the nose shape, the lacking areas were filled as much as possible with ear cartilage, and no other materials were used)
Day 3 - When I opened my mouth, my nasal tip felt tight and there was a sharp kind of pain, but it was tolerable! My ears really lolol did not hurt haha.. On this day, I had a lot of runny nose dripping down, so I only wiped what was flowing with cotton swabs or gauze. Whenever I was worried and contacted the manager on KakaoTalk, they answered kindly and well~ I wanted the swelling to go down quickly, so I drank pumpkin juice diligently, went for about a 70-minute walk, and then collapsed from exhaustion.. You should not overdo it ㅠㅠ I still had the bandage on, but my family already said I looked sharp and that it was amazing lololol My older sister even said she should get her revision surgery here too lololol
Days 4-6 - Other than feeling weak because I kept taking antibiotics and runny-nose medicine, I was okay! ** If you have a lot of runny nose, definitely tell the hospital, and they will tell you about a medication called Actifed that you can get at a pharmacy without a prescription! They say that for people it does not suit, it can actually make the mucus thicker, but it suited me well, so I kept taking it while my runny nose was severeㅠㅠ But the medicine is quite strong, so it made me extremely sleepy!
Day 7 - The director removed the stitches in my nose and ears delicately, thoroughly, and slowly so it would not hurt! He explained everything so kindly, and I had heard that stitch removal is hell, so I was worried it would hurt, but it really did not hurt.. As expected, they are great at aftercare.. He even personally made something like a prosthetic support so blood would not pool in my ear! This day was during the Chuseok holiday, so the other staff members were not there and only the directors came in, and I could really feel their affection for the hospital ㅠㅠ - The day all the splints were removed and I finally saw my nose properly!!! Since the tip will drop later anyway, they had done overcorrection, so my nasal tip was raised very high lololol but to the point that I could not even remember what my original nose looked like.. Just raising the nasal tip can make this much difference.. I transformed properly from a puppy-like look to a cat-like look lolol
One month - The overcorrected part has also come down a lot, so it looks very natural yet glamorous haha. If I do not tell people around me, they do not know I had nose surgery, but I keep hearing that I lost weight, look sharper, and somehow look more refined.
After anesthesia for the surgery, they also checked that I had an antibiotic allergy, and apparently I had an allergy to Cefarade?;; So they prescribed a different medication for me,, It is really something that should be obvious, but I was touched again by this thoroughness and delicacy,, My veins also do not show well, so whenever people try to set an IV line, I always end up with lots of needle sticks in both armsㅠ but here they got it well in one try!
The director, manager, and staff were all so kind, and more than anything, I really, really love the result..❤️❤️ It has only been one month, but the swelling has gone down well! I am excited to see how much prettier it will look next month and the month after that!!
