Maybe because I went at a time when there were no people, I arrived within my reserved time and immediately filled out the consultation chart. A female staff member at the counter helped me fill out the chart, but when I asked questions about the items written on the chart, she seemed obviously unsure to anyone watching, saying “Ah.. um..” and looking flustered. Even though she didn’t know, when I asked, “What does keloid-prone mean? How do I know if my skin is like that? Is it skin that becomes raised when scratched?” she would say, “Ah.. um, yes, that’s right,” and write it down, so she seemed inexperienced with professional information, which lowered my trust a bit even before the consultation. If she didn’t know, she should have asked someone, but from a patient’s perspective, the fact that she roughly filled it out and moved on even though she didn’t know whether I had keloid-prone skin or not... I wondered what would happen if it became a problem during surgery later. Anyway, after that, without any waiting time, I had the consultation in the order of consultant > Director Choi Won-il > consultant. The consultant was kind, and I had brought a list of questions, which she looked over carefully one by one and answered. After the consultant separately showed it to the director as well, the director came in and likewise kindly explained each of the things I had been curious about. However, unlike consultations at other clinics, he said that he does not use costal cartilage for a primary surgery and that septal cartilage alone would be sufficient, so I found that odd. When I asked the consultant at the end, she said the director does not recommend that material for primary surgery and that costal cartilage is used for revision surgery. It seemed like posts about revision cases came up from time to time in this community. I went there because a few years ago I heard through word of mouth that it was a place where an acquaintance of an acquaintance had a good result, but I’m still considering this clinic because the CCTV issue bothers me. For the price, I wrote the amount they quoted with an additional discount on the condition that my before-and-after face photos would be disclosed on the clinic website or brochure.
