I'm writing after coming back to this community for the first time in almost a year.. haha I reread the post I wrote when it had been 1 year since my removal, and it brought back memories, so I'm writing a review 2 years after removal.. haha
I had surgery in January 2011 and had it removed in February 2013. I had a little over 3 mm of silicone inserted, and ear cartilage was used for the nasal tip.
I had the surgery at a plastic surgery clinic in Busan that everyone has probably heard of at least once, and when I was looking into surgery, I only visited a few places and vaguely decided that the place with the most people would be the safest.. I really wasn't thinking deeply enough.. haha
Still, I had the surgery done by a doctor famous for nose surgery, and the result was satisfactory in its own way. My original nose itself wasn't pretty.. My nostrils were round, I had no nasal bridge, and it was a blunt? bulbous nose. After surgery, once the cast came off and the tape was removed, it wasn't a dramatic change from my original nose, but just the slightly different nasal height and the small amount of ear cartilage placed in the tip changed my impression and made me hear that I looked prettier, so it felt fascinating.. It felt like all the hardship after surgery, going in for antibiotic shots, wearing tape, and not being able to meet friends, all disappeared?
I thought there would be no side effects after surgery. I think I thought, since it's silicone, it must be safe? haha It's literally putting silicone in the face, so why did I think it was safe? Anyway, that summer, I think.. suddenly the glabella area swelled up a lot, so I went straight to the clinic, and they said it was because blood had pooled, so they just drained the blood and taped it. After that nothing happened, so I just thought blood must have pooled and left it at that, and that was the root of the problem..
Around winter 2012, I started feeling like the silicone was showing through the skin.. especially at the glabella. I also hated the feeling that my nose was contracting, and I was so stressed in many ways that my mind changed several times a day about whether to remove it or not, and I went in and out of clinics like they were my home.. I really lived focusing only on my nose.
I scheduled the removal date and canceled it on the day itself.. then eventually I had it removed. Afterward, I worried so much that contracture might happen, but it didn't. Well,, my nose originally showed the nostrils, so I don't think I was that stressed about contracture.
I had closed removal through the right nostril, so even now my right nostril is a little bigger. haha I only recently came into this community and found out from comments that the nostril used for closed surgery can become larger..
The right nostril is a bit bigger, but I'm going to live thinking that nostril size can't be exactly the same on both sides as if measured with a ruler.. I don't want to have surgery again just to reduce nostril size.. But when I think that my boyfriend, who has rested his head on my knee and looked up at me from below, must have noticed my nostrils are different sizes.. I feel a little embarrassed too.. hahahaha
These days I sometimes think about filler.. hahahaha Since the ear cartilage is still in my nasal tip, I kind of think I just want filler only in the bridge?
Is there anyone who didn't get the tip done and got filler only exactly in the nasal bridge..ㅠㅠ hahahahahaha
When I was lying on the operating table for the removal surgery, I said I would never even go near a plastic surgery clinic again, but hahahahaha these days I'm starting to think a little about filler hahaha keke Maybe I haven't come to my senses..
If there are people who have felt their nose contracting, especially in winter, or felt like the silicone was showing through under bright light, or had even one symptom where the glabella seemed to swell when tired, I want to recommend removal. Yes, honestly, after removal, you won't like the shape of your nose. That's natural.. But if you get those symptoms and leave it alone because the shape feels too precious to give up, the skin may keep getting thinner, so when you remove it later, the result might be even less satisfying.. haha Well, this is all something each person has to decide for themselves..
The review got too long.. I think there are many people who have decided to remove it, are worrying about it, are depressed after doing it, and so on.. people whose hearts have been hurt.. Still, time really is medicine, and as time passed there were definitely parts that got better.. Let's stay strong!
