First of all, I thought my face shape was pretty oval, so I had no interest in contouring at all! But as I moved past my 20s, when my face was still plump, and entered my 30s, the cheek fat started disappearing, and once I got into my early 30s, my cheekbones started standing out. You know how once something catches your eye, that’s all you keep seeing? Every time I looked in the mirror, I felt like I was massaging my cheekbones. For about three monthsㅠㅠ Rather than keep stressing, I thought I should at least get a consultation, so I searched a bunch of hospitals. But big hospitals weren’t my taste, so I ruled them out, and since I was thinking about cosmetic surgery after turning 30, I ended up looking closely at each surgeon’s background too. (I couldn’t help looking at education as well.) The place that caught my eye was Yoon Shape. Director Oh Jeong-seok had worked at famous large hospitals with flashy reviews?! It could be seen as a short career, but I thought he must have the skill, so he opened his own clinic independently. I thought he would also be good at understanding the latest trends, so I went straight to a consultationㅋㅋ After the CT scan, they explained in detail what kind of surgery it was and kindly consulted me on the direction I wanted and what improvements the surgery could bring. But why is it that when you go for a procedure consultation, they tempt you with things you don’t even need?ㅋㅋ But Yoonjeong only recommended what was really necessary, and told me I didn’t have to do the things I didn’t need. The director and the manager didn’t push anything excessively, so I could protect my bank account, and honestly it made me trust them even more! The price was also fixed, so it was exactly what I had been told in advance, and there were no extra costs! And above all, not only the head director but also a dedicated anesthesiologist director was there separately, and they had good emergency response measures in place, so I really felt reassured. (The anesthesiologist director was also a graduate of Seoul National University.) In the end, after the consultation, I thought about it for about a month and then set a surgery date. On the day of surgery, I went in expecting(?) how much it would hurt when waking up from anesthesia. Before the surgery, the director explained the operation and recovery process in detail, and as soon as I got ready and lay down, I think I fell asleep quickly. But... the moment I woke up, it hurt so much that I snapped fully awake. There were reviews saying it “doesn’t hurt,” but for me it really hurt so badly! I think it hurt more than getting an implant. Not just my cheekbones, but my molars hurt so much that I kept whining to the nursesㅋㅋ But they were so kind, asking the anesthesiology director whether it would be okay to use more painkillers, and worrying together with me, so I was gratefulㅠㅠ I wanted to come to my senses quickly, so I did deep breaths using Pilates breathingㅋㅋ After I got myself together, they took a post-op CT scan again, I heard the director explain the surgical result, and then I was discharged. I had the surgery at the start of a holiday period, when traffic was really bad, but fortunately it was on a subway line where I could sit, so I rode alone for about 40 minutes and got home safely. But if you have to stand or if waking up from anesthesia takes a long time, I’d recommend taking a taxi or getting help from someone accompanying you rather than public transport. It’s really hardㅎㅎ As expected, the swelling was worst on days 3 to 4, and the bruising under my eyes started showing up from day 3ㅋㅋ I wasn’t someone with severe swelling, so by around week 2 the swelling around my eyes had mostly gone down, and by week 3 a lot of the cheek swelling had also gone down. But there was still swelling in the side cheekbone area, so my face shape doesn’t yet feel dramatically changed. Maybe just that the line of my face feels a little softer compared to before surgery? I also had my 1-month follow-up, and the director said that when I come in at 3 months, I’ll think even this face is very swollenㅋㅋ Even now, the size of the bone I can feel with my hands is definitely different, and I can see on the CT that the bone position changed, so I’m hoping the residual swelling goes down as soon as possible! I’ve seen the word “endure” a lot when it comes to contouring surgery, but it seems you can’t help feeling impatientㅋㅋ Since it’s only been a month now, in three months it should settle much better, right? Hang in there, endurance fighters!!
