Even though it was my first consultation at a plastic surgery clinic, this hospital made me realize, “So this is what a factory-style clinic is!” Starting from the waiting room, it was cramped like a packed cage. Men couldn’t sit with their backs against the chairs because their shoulders were wedged in on both sides. They did an ultrasound exam, but without any explanation, they just said it was grade 2a and ended it. I only heard the result, with no explanation at all about where the mammary gland tissue was, where the fat layer was, or why it was grade 2a, and then the ultrasound exam was over. Before the consultation with the director, I waited nearly 30 minutes in the consultation room and thought it was strange, so I went out to reception and asked. It turned out I really had been left off the waiting list.... There was no separate apology. The director’s consultation that followed was around 5 minutes. It felt like they had squeezed in the consultation during a busy time. When I asked questions, they cut me off midway, gave brief answers, and ended it. They didn’t introduce themselves or say they would be doing the surgery, so only after I asked at the end who would be operating on me did I find out this person would do the surgery. I didn’t even get to see the 3D virtual surgery scan photos taken before the consultation? Those, or the ultrasound images. The manager consultation was about 8 minutes, and 5 of those minutes were spent persuading me to put down a reservation deposit. At the end, I was told the ultrasound exam fee was 37,000 won, but I was charged 39,000 won. The reception staff did not greet patients getting off the elevator or patients who had paid and were leaving at all.
