I had surgery on October 2. After the surgery, the doctor in charge came and said the surgery went well, that the cheekbones were set in a lot, and that the jaw would also become much slimmer. They say major swelling goes down in 1 week, and actually a lot of swelling did go down by week 1, but I was still very swollen and my face looked bigger than before surgery. I often measure the width of my face (because I’m very interested in it). Before surgery, the distance between my posterior cheekbones was 14.2 cm, and the distance between my lateral cheekbones was about 13.6-13.8 cm. But when I measured between week 1 and week 2 after surgery, the distance between the posterior cheekbones was actually 15 cm, and the distance between the lateral cheekbones was about 13.5 cm, so there wasn’t much difference from before surgery, and the posterior cheekbone area had actually gotten wider. So I asked the manager by text, and she said it was because the swelling hadn’t gone down yet. I also asked on Naver Knowledge iN, and someone answered that it was still 100% because of swelling. For those who have had cheekbone + square jaw surgery, do bones swell after surgery? I’m measuring the distance between bones, so can it look wider because of swelling? And when I just measured today at week 2, the distance between the posterior cheekbones was about 14.8 cm, and the lateral cheekbones about 13.3 cm, so it has decreased a little. Once all the swelling goes down, since the posterior cheekbones weren’t touched, I expect they’ll be about 14.2 cm, and the distance between the lateral cheekbones should be under 13 cm.^^
