I developed contracture, so my nasal tip felt tight and turned upward, and it got especially worse when I smiled, so I couldn’t even smile comfortably and it was so stressful. Right after surgery it was more or less okay, but after a few months, I started feeling like my nose was gradually curling upward, and then contracture happenedㅜ (People who have gone through this will know. It’s really so hard mentally tooㅜㅜ) I went to consultations at several places, and most of them recommended autologous costal cartilage. In the end, I had revision surgery with autologous costal cartilage at Fresh ENT Clinic. When I consulted with the director, how should I put it, you could really tell they had seen a lot of contracture patients. They explained things realistically and well. They carefully and clearly told me what was possible and impossible with my nose, so I trusted them more. It has been one month since surgery now, and I think “saved” is the right expression. My nasal tip has come down, and compared with before, it has become really natural. The pulling feeling when I smiled is gone, and it’s much more comfortable than before. And because it was autologous costal cartilage, the rib area did hurt when I moved after surgery, but now the pain has gotten better, and the scar where the autologous costal cartilage was harvested has healed well too. The swelling in the first week was honestly not human-lookingㅋㅋㅋ After 2-3 weeks it started going down little by little, and now it has gone down a lot. It has only been a month, so it still needs to settle more, but compared with my previous nose, it’s completely improved. Even I, who was worried about a contracted nose, am recovering this well, so don’t worry too much, and I hope you consult at several places before deciding.
