It has been 15 days since I had revision rhinoplasty with autologous costal cartilage at Lowell Plastic Surgery. The reason I had the surgery was that I wasn’t satisfied with the shape after my first surgery. The glabella area was high, but maybe the nasal tip material had been absorbed, because the nasal tip kept drooping more and more. So I wanted to create a sharp, defined shape, and I also wanted to switch to firm autologous costal cartilage as the material, so I decided on surgery. I went to a lot of consultations, and Director Kim Jae-yoon at Lowell gave the most detailed consultation. He explained well why autologous costal cartilage was needed, so I trusted him. Also, other hospitals didn’t explain their fixation method, but Lowell said they would fix it with quadruple fixation so the nasal tip would not droop as much as possible, which made me trust them even more! Honestly, until the day before surgery, I wondered if I was doing the right thing, but after surgery I’m really satisfied and think I made the right choice. Unusually, the autologous costal cartilage harvest site didn’t hurt at all for me either (individual differences apply). They say if the surgery is done well, there is almost no swelling, and since I had almost no swelling, I think it may be thanks to Director Kim Jae-yoon’s skill. I was worried because autologous costal cartilage leaves a scar, but they said they’re also good at scar treatment, and I liked that they provided laser treatment as aftercare. Except for removing the cotton placed in my nose, I recovered really well without any difficult parts.
