6-month review after silicone removal

I posted once on day 47, and since today marks 6 months, I’m posting for the last time. I had it removed 9 years after nose surgery, and I did not have a relatively complicated surgery. I was told I had silicone in the nasal bridge, and the nasal tip was raised only on the columella side with an artificial implant; while raising the columella, the cartilage was of course tied.

For 9 years I had no inflammation and lived without paying attention to my nose... but the skin at the end of the silicone on the nasal tip side became extremely thin, and I discovered too late that I could feel the silicone, so I had it removed. (The doctor recommended a skin graft, but my impression looked too strong, and the silicone was also a little crooked, so I had it removed.) Many people asked about the surgery cost... I only paid for a simple surgery without insurance. (Removed at the original clinic.)

In the early period, I diligently did warm compresses because of a pulling sensation, and I didn’t take any other medication. I worried a lot that the area with thin skin on the nasal tip might contract and become depressed, but so far there has not been any noticeable depression, though if you look closely, that area is very slightly lower.

The nasal bridge and nasal tip, which were initially swollen like a big bulbous nose, have also gone down a lot, so I think I’m now out of that big-nose phase.

The nasal dorsum still hurts when I touch it. (I haven’t tried making a pig nose, pressing it, or anything like that.) It seems like there is still a little capsule left. It may still be continuing to absorb now, or it may become fixed in this state. They said this is something you only know after time passes.

I think the key points for post-surgery care are warm compresses and not touching it. It seems that the longer you have had nose surgery, the less likely it is to ever return to the original nose, and although there may be no unimportant part of the face, I really think the nose is important. Even if the skin on your nose is plump right now, as time passes it will eventually become thin, and in the end that area seems to become a big problem. Please decide carefully. For those who are worried a lot right now, please stay strong.
