Double-Jaw Surgery Reviews

One-month follow-up after double jaw surgery

Since childhood I have had poor TMJ function, so when I opened my mouth my jaw would make clicking sounds, and my bite was not aligned properly. I went through life thinking there was nothing especially uncomfortable, but as I grew older I started noticing more and more things that were bothering me without even realizing it! When I ate, my upper and lower teeth did not meet properly so even biting into food was difficult, and when I clenched my teeth my underbite stood out more. Without realizing it, I kept living with my mouth slightly open, and I think that changed my bite even more. My face shape was also longer than other people’s, so between my face shape, underbite, and poor dental occlusion, I think I decided I had to have the surgery while I was still young, even if it was just by one year. The reason I chose this hospital was that I watched a lot of videos on YouTube and got to see several directors, and somehow I really trusted what the director said I thought they were a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery, but also had experience working at a large hospital in the past, so they were someone who covered both cosmetic and treatment purposes. Treatment is important, but appearance matters too So I ended up choosing Y Oral Surgery without much hesitation. Everyone is so kind and lovely. Hehe They explain everything clearly without making it feel burdensome, and while I was in consultation I felt I could trust this hospital and leave it to them, so I made the reservation right away without much deliberation. After the surgery, my bite finally matched properly, so when I smile I look more natural and pretty, and I try to smile more often!! My lower jaw has noticeably moved back, my face has become much smaller, and the length has become much shorter.. Above all, my facial line has been cleaned up, so in photos I look more natural and pretty!! For the first week after surgery, my face was at maximum swelling and my nose was blocked, so daily life was inconvenient. Once the nasal congestion ended after a week, sleeping became much easier and everyday life became more comfortable. Starting in the third week, I began eating porridge. When eating porridge, I took out the wafer and rubber bands, and during that time I also did mouth exercises. After only drinking liquids every day, once I started eating porridge, my hunger decreased a lot and I felt like I had something to look forward to when eating.. I had my upper jaw fixed, so for a month I could not really talk and had many eating restrictions, but making and eating porridge was fun, and from the fourth week the swelling went down a lot in a way that was clearly visible. I also did a lot of warm compresses, and above all I tried to walk a lot. I walked three to four hours a day so long as it was not exhausting. Living day by day like that, when I went back to the hospital at the one-month mark, finally taking out the wafer I had been waiting for and having the eating restrictions loosen a bit made each day even happier!!!
