Hi everyone! I had been thinking about rhinoplasty for several years because my nose was small and low, but I was about to give up because I was afraid of side effects. Then I saw a video about implant-free rhinoplasty on the YouTube channels ㅇㄱ, ㅇㅇㅈㄴ, and ㅎㅇㅈ, got tempted, and had the first high-cost, long-distance major surgery of my life. It’s been a little over 2 months. If the surgery turned out okay, I wanted to leave a review in a community to help others~ I wrote everything down in detail in my diary at the time of surgery. I’ll try to write as objectively as possible. You have to make the decision about surgery cool-headedly yourself~
Consultation At the time, on a weekday afternoon, the wait was about 20 minutes? Consultation time was about 30-40 minutes. The director’s consultation explained things in a little more detail than the YouTube content. He told me the history of his rhinoplasty method. He spoke quickly, so there were many parts I couldn’t quite understand. There were more surgical case photos of younger patients than what you see on YouTube or the website. The discussion about improving my nose was really brief, and he showed me surgical photos of someone with a somewhat similar nose. For things that couldn’t be done, he said they couldn’t be done, but that they could be supplemented by doing it this way, so I trusted him more. Consultation fee was 10,000 won. If you book surgery, they subtract the consultation fee.
Day of surgery Consultation was mainly about the nasal bridge. It was very simple. He didn’t even ask what shape I wanted. I had prepared lots of celebrity photos, but I knew it wouldn’t turn out exactly like that anyway, so I didn’t show them lol The design was to raise the nose as high as possible within the limits of what could be done with ear cartilage, so I think that’s why he only asked about the nasal bridge. Personally, I raised it only slightly.
The nurses didn’t call me “patient” but “customer.” That felt a bit unusual to me hahaha There was CCTV inside the operating room, and about 3 nurses came in. No changing clothes. I just had surgery wearing the regular clothes I came in. (There is a gown too, though.) Wear something as comfortable as possible with a wide neckline. I was anesthetized a total of 3 times. Sedation - local anesthesia (ear cartilage harvesting) - sedation anesthesia (nose surgery), in that order. During the short sedation anesthesia, they did the local anesthesia. After that I woke up briefly while they harvested the ear cartilage, and I could hear the sound of the ear cartilage being cut... Then a few minutes later, I went back under deep sedation anesthesia for the main surgery. When I woke up, I was in the recovery room. I think a little over 3 hours had passed.
I didn’t have osteotomy, so I really had almost no bruising. The swelling was about like a morning after eating a lot of ramen the day before and sleeping a lot. My impression looked scary lol I like the height of the nasal tip and nasal bridge. My nose didn’t hurt, and my ear hurt a little, just to the point that I wouldn’t notice if I didn’t pay attention. There was some bleeding. I came home and ate porridge. Since my surgery was in the afternoon and I had fasted since the previous evening, it tasted insanely good.... I also brushed my teeth. Looking at the precautions, it said not to brush your teeth, but I didn’t know and did it.. lol I sneezed too and just did everything. For cold compresses, don’t put them on the nose; focus around the eyes~ Because cartilage was removed from one ear, the two ears looked different, and there was a purple bruise. Now it’s not very noticeable. What was uncomfortable was that I had to sleep slightly sitting up and not tilted to either side.
+After surgery You have to get antibiotic injections for 3 days, and every time I went to the clinic, the director grabbed my nose and shook it to check it, which hurt a lot hahaha He says the concept is that even if the nose is raised a lot, there isn’t much difference from the front, so I don’t recommend it for anyone who wants the front view to be dramatically improved. I thought that if I had rhinoplasty, I’d look like Winter, but I look exactly the same... There is a silicone implant developed by the director, so if you want a dramatic change, I think it would be good to have a consultation for implant surgery~ The bruising was all gone after the 2nd week, and by 1 month it looked completely natural. Now, after more than 2 months, it just feels like my own nose! It still has a tight feeling, though. I’m not 100% completely satisfied with the shape, but I still think I’m glad I had the surgery, and looking in the mirror is fun lol I’m not going to get more greedy! I hope it stays like this forever~
