At first, I really wanted to die. I went through so much emotional distress. Now a lot of the swelling has gone down, and I do hear that I look prettier, so compared with the first 2 months, I’m satisfied. But it has already been 6 months, and when I smile, my nose doesn’t move, so it feels extremely awkward. At first, I had a deviated nose, so I really looked around everywhere. Then I found a hospital I really liked. It was a hospital that did both ENT and plastic surgery. They said the director was a doctor, that it specialized in deviated noses, and that they even had a patent, so I thought it was perfect. When I went for the consultation, it felt like I ended up doing every kind of nose surgery there was. My nostrils were uneven, I had a hump, rhinitis, septum issues, and a deviated nose. I went without looking into surgical side effects or surgical methods, so I just did whatever they told me to do. I should have asked how many millimeters they would raise it and how they would operate, but I didn’t know about any of that, so I just asked them to make it as natural as possible. I think many ordinary people may be like me. And when I said I hoped I could make a pig nose afterward, they said these days everyone can. They also said that if I got rhinoplasty, my nasolabial folds would get much deeper, so I needed paranasal augmentation too. When I said I had never thought about that, they told me to consult again with the manager. The manager said there were absolutely no side effects. When I said I had never considered paranasal augmentation, they said it would look worse after rhinoplasty. These things happened 30 minutes before going into surgery. In the confusion, I ended up saying I would do it and had the surgery. The claim that paranasal augmentation has no side effects is all a lie. Don’t believe it. For me, the implant on one side shifted position, and I was extremely stressed. The hospital said it was scar tissue or something. After 3 months, I had revision surgery on one side. But the doctor said my face was just the type where it would shift anyway. At first they took a CT and said there would be no side effects, but then said it could shift again. If it shifts again, they said to change it to 4 mm. They should have examined properly from the beginning and used 4 mm. I was so annoyed and resented that irresponsible doctor. I had surgery without even knowing how many millimeters it was, so it’s my fault ㅜㅜ I was extremely stressed because of that. It has now been almost 5 to 6 months, and I think it has shifted again. I don’t even want to see that hospital, and I don’t want to talk to them on the phone. It’s really frustrating. My nose is long around the columella. And what makes me the angriest is that I had surgery for a deviated nose, but it was still deviated after surgery. At first they said the swelling was going down unevenly, so I believed them. After 3 months, the doctor said that originally, with deviated noses, the bone has a tendency to return to its original position, so it can deviate again, and that 100% correction of a deviated nose is not possible. At first, when doing the surgery, they said they specialized in deviated noses and made it seem as if deviated nose correction could be 100%, and they advertised it that way too. If I had known they would say this now, why would I have paid 4.5 million won for surgery? And I would have done it at a plastic surgery specialty hospital known for making noses pretty. Hospitalization cost about 400,000 won too. In total, it was about 5 million won, including medication. I had surgery because of the deviated nose, and now I feel really unlucky. After 6 months, because I was so stressed and had such a hard time after rhinoplasty, I absolutely dread revision surgery. I hate even thinking about it. So I thought I would just live like this, but the more serious problem is that even now, 6 months later, my nasal obstruction has gotten worse, and inside my nose there are hard, bumpy things sticking out like bone. But what I can tolerate even less than that is my nose that doesn’t move. I can’t make a pig nose at all, and when I smile, my nose doesn’t move, so it looks really awkward. Will it stay like this? Or will it get better after a year? At first they said they would not use silicone and would use a piece of septal bone for the nasal cartilage, but after the surgery was all over, they said they used silicone. They said the septal bone was too weak and there was nothing usable. At first, when I was getting surgery, they really coaxed me into it, but what they said before and after was different. It was an extremely commercial hospital. After surgery, I first saw the doctor only after 3 months. They always said he was busy with surgeries lol. I saw him once when I was hospitalized, and while my face was covered all over with a splint, he said it came out pretty. Since I went through this, anyone planning surgery should look more carefully into what side effects there are, what is uncomfortable with silicone, what is uncomfortable with ear cartilage, and the different surgical methods. Don’t regret it later like a fool the way I did. Ask the doctor in advance what method they will use for the surgery, check the side effects and inconveniences, and then choose. Also, there are probably many commercially driven hospitals where what they say before and after you go in is different, so please look into it carefully before doing it. This review got too long.
