I finally had my very old nasal silicone implant removed this morning. It’s not one of the big three clinics, and it’s not in Seoul either, so please don’t ask which hospital. I had it removed at the hospital where I had my second surgery. They put on a splint, and they said it’s old pooled blood coming out, but there is some bleeding like a runny nose. I guess it’s because they had to dissect the area to take out something that had been in there so long... They said there was no inflammation in the capsule, so they would only remove it partially. I tried to get the silicone as a keepsake, but they said taking it outside is prohibited.. haha The surgery took about an hour this morning, and today only my eyes are slightly swollen, less than I expected. The real swelling will probably start tomorrow. It’s a surgery that makes you look less pretty, so of course I don’t have high expectations. I just have to pray that the wound heals well and that my nose doesn’t turn up. They said they would trim the ear cartilage that had been used to lift the nasal tip and place it back in lower. Because of the splint and taping, I can’t see the shape of my nose either, but I feel so relieved. Back when I was young, I impulsively did it without fear because I wanted to become prettier... I lived fine with it, but one day I looked in the mirror and suddenly thought, wow, my nose looks unnatural. It also seemed a little shorter in length.. So I took it out. I didn’t want to live with anxiety as I got older.. Now that I’ve actually done it, all those nights I stayed up searching for reviews and worrying are in the past. I’ll post a review after the splint comes off for everyone. I’m curious too about what happens to the nose after removing very old silicone like mine.
