I live abroad, so I took vacation and returned to Korea, and it has now been one month since surgery. (male)
Before surgery, I was extremely worried, and even though people around me tried to stop me, I thought, let’s just try it once,
and had surgery on my eyes, nasal bridge, and nasal tip.
For the nasal bridge, silicone was used, and for the nasal tip, septal cartilage was used.
After surgery, they put hemostatic foam in my nose, so for two days I couldn’t breathe properly, eating was uncomfortable, and even drinking water was hard, but once it was removed, it was better haha
Because my stay in Korea was short, I worried what if the swelling or bruising lasted a long time, but the swelling went down more than expected, and especially with the nose, the swelling really subsided well. For about a week it was very swollen and looked like a bulbous nose, but now people say my nose turned out really well, so I feel good too haha
I really thought a lot before plastic surgery. I’ve lived this long, should I just get a procedure and leave it at that? What if the surgery goes wrong.... My younger sibling also had surgery, but it wasn’t done by a specialist, so later there were side effects and the shape wasn’t good, and they had removal surgery. I do think there are definitely cases where surgery is difficult depending on the person.
This hospital is good at this, that hospital is good at that. I researched a lot too, but since I live abroad, I got introduced to the hospital by an acquaintance who used to be a consultant manager, booked right away, and had surgery. (Even that acquaintance didn’t recommend nose surgery, saying it’s risky and they had seen many cases go wrong...)
But after the surgery went well, the swelling went down, and the shape started settling, people around me consistently said it looked like the surgery went well and that I looked much better. Getting those positive reactions made me think, as expected, I’m glad I did it.
There are many people in this community who are worried, and I wanted to post something positive :)
Of course, I’m only one month out, so who knows what may happen later, but I guess it’s the same as life. Hope it goes well, and if a problem comes up, work through it...
Everyone, stay strong and fighting!
