Before the surgery, I was dissatisfied with my eyes because the outer corners were normally very upturned, and to improve this I had consulted many plastic surgery clinics about a surgery to lower the eye corners. At most clinics, I was told that the outer corners of my eyes were too upturned and that my eyes were long, so it would be better not to have a canthoplasty. However, here I underwent surgery after hearing the director's consultation that they would lower the outer corners as much as possible and after hearing about the surgical method.
After the surgery, swelling in my eyes lasted for a little over a month, so I visited an ophthalmologist and was prescribed artificial tears because the dryness was severe. As the bruising and swelling went down after about a month and a half, the lower eyelashes began turning inward and stabbing my eyeballs. The white show also became worse after the surgery. Because I kept tearing up and my eyes were constantly bloodshot, I felt a lot of discomfort and went to see Director Kim Jeongil. He told me to observe the course for about 3 months. Even after watching the progress, it did not improve, and the ophthalmology clinic kept saying that if my eyelashes kept touching my eyeballs, an ulcer could form, so they recommended surgery.
I had not been told about these side effects, so I complained to the hospital and demanded compensation, but the director said there had been a mistake on the hospital's side for not explaining the side effects (the consultation manager had left the job), and they performed a surgery to make the lower eyelashes face outward. However, this returned again, and I paid about 400,000 won for a second surgery on the right side.
After that, I was satisfied with my eye shape, which looked much gentler than before surgery, but my dry eye got worse and worse, and I lived with conjunctivitis and bloodshot eyes. A few years later, my vision also declined a lot. At present, I am looking into revisional canthoplasty reconstruction.
