I had revision surgery because of nasal tip contracture. The bridge of my nose was also slightly crooked. It was only an external issue; I didn’t have pain or any other discomfort. Since rhinoplasty isn’t something you can just decide on and go through with overnight, I kept thinking about it and putting it off, and a few years passed. I think the symptoms started appearing about 3 years ago. Last winter, at some point, it seemed like the shape was getting worse, so I was startled then, looked into revision surgery, and only now was able to have the surgery. It has currently been 2 weeks. Resolving the contracture was the basic goal, and since I had been very stressed about the shape, I also had a strong desire for aesthetic improvement. I wanted a natural straight-to-slightly-upturned nose line, and I also didn’t like the nasal bridge, so I hoped that part would improve too. Because my original nasal bridge was low, I told them in advance that I didn’t think removing the existing silicone and going implant-free would work, and I consulted about replacing the implant. For this surgery, it was replaced with 3.5 mm silicone; I don’t know the size of the previous silicone. The nasal tip was supported with ear cartilage and septal cartilage. Since it has only been 2 weeks, I’m being cautious in every way. Still, I trust that the director performed the surgery safely and well, so I’ll keep checking my progress and wait.
