Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

Recent update.. (nose change process)

I ran the date calculator, and today is exactly 2 months and 21 days after surgery.

About 2 months and 3 weeks have passed, and maybe the contraction period still hasn’t fully passed, because my nose feels a bit uncomfortable and tight.

Sometimes my nose looks like it’s standing very high, and sometimes it looks like it has come down a bit. I can gauge the changes by the shape of my nostrilsㅠ

When my nose is standing high like that, it feels hard and hurts when I touch it.

The biggest problem, the translucency.... Some days it looks a bit better, and some days it looks very noticeable.

It is translucentㅠ Even if I get revision surgery, I can only do it after 6 months anyway, so I’m living with the mindset of, let’s just wait for now.

I’ve had removal and repositioning surgeries several times, so I already know very well what kind of process the nose goes through and how it changes after removal.

(One silicone removal, one inflammation removal, one septal cartilage removal + cartilage repositioning, and one cartilage repositioning, all done as separate surgeriesㅠ)

Even though I already know, I can’t help feeling impatientㅠ

I wish my nose would soften up quickly, and why does time pass so slowly..................

When I look at photos from when I had removal surgery before, the nose usually starts to soften after 3 months.

Only after 3 months do you start to feel, oh, now the nose is changing a bit, and it keeps changing even after 6 months.

The nose shape changed even up to 10 months to 1 year.

The state where you feel, my nose has softened up, is:

1. It doesn’t hurt even if you suddenly press or touch it If your nose just feels itchy or stiff and you press or touch it without thinking, it shouldn’t hurt. Especially when applying cosmetics, if you can rub and apply them firmly without paying attention to your nose and there is no foreign-body sensation or pain, then the nose has softened up somewhat.

2. It doesn’t feel uncomfortable when doing the “mm-pa mm-pa” motion You know, the motion you do when applying lipstick.

3. It should feel soft and press down well when you press the nose Warm compresses make the nose soft, and that soft feeling should be felt in daily life. Even when you haven’t done a warm compress, the nose should be soft for it to mean it has loosened up. When the nose hasn’t softened yet, even if you press it, it’s like the nose is firmly resisting. It doesn’t press down well.

4. The nose should be less swollen and soft in the morning When the nose hasn’t recovered yet, it swells a lot in the morning. Truly a swollen nose.... As it recovers, there is less swelling, and it feels soft even if you touch it right away in the morning.

5. The nose softens from top to bottom. It softens in the order of glabella - nasal bridge - nasal ala - nasal dorsum - nasal tip. The nasal tip changes the latest. After removal, people usually worry because of the nasal tip, but the nasal tip really softens the leastㅠㅠ You have to wait a long timeㅠ You can think of it as the fleshy areas softening first, and the areas made of bone softening later. Of course, the columella also fluctuates. Some days the columella stands straight, and some days the columella is lower. Depending on the nose changes, the shape of the columella and nostrils changesㅠ

Honestly, even at 6 months, the nose isn’t fully recovered; you can just think of it as being stabilized.

Right now, I can feel my nasal tip cartilage too clearly and see that it’s protruding, so if it’s still like this after 6 months, I’m thinking about lowering the nasal tip more.

It would be absolutely wonderful if something magical suddenly happened and my nose became about 2 mm lower and the nasal tip tucked in...ㅠ

I wrote this because I often see people worrying about things like when the nose changes, whether the nasal tip comes down, whether this scar tissue really softens, and so on.

The nose... does change. But very little by little.. very slowly... it changes...

And for some people the change is large (like the nose coming down noticeably), while for others it only changes subtly (about 1-2 mm coming down).

My nose has also been fluctuating these days, so I wrote this partly to steady my mind.

I sincerely pray that everyone who has had removal, and everyone who will have removal, gets good results.
