First of all, I decided to have surgery because I have a severe hump nose + deviated septum (+ a bit of rhinitis) and a crooked nose. Basically, my nasal bridge itself is high, so I wanted only the hump shaved down, with no implant, for a natural-looking nose, so I focused on those points during consultations. I’m from outside Seoul, so I didn’t have time or energy to go around to many places. I only went to 3 consultations for now, but I’m thinking a lot about it, and I thought it might help others researching online, so I’m leaving consultation reviews.
This will probably get long, so I’ll write the parts below briefly. 1. ㅇㅂㄹ (Gangnam Station) I went because there were many reviews in this community and the after-results seemed natural. The clinic itself isn’t big, about one floor of a building. There are only exactly 2 doctors: the director and an anesthesiologist. Before the consultation, they took a CT scan, and while looking at it, they touched my nose and showed me other people’s before-and-after surgery photos during the consultation. They said my nasal bridge height itself is high, so I don’t need an implant, but because the hump is severe, osteotomy is essential. They said my columella is a bit droopy, so they suggested slightly lifting and fixing the nasal tip with autologous cartilage. For the crooked nose, they plan to correct the deviation by supporting the side of the nasal bridge with bone/cartilage. They clearly told me that because my hump is severe, a dramatic upturned “beoseon” nose would not be possible. Overall, they recommended and advised no implant. Looking at other people’s photos too, it seemed like they perform surgery naturally, not too dramatically.
A/S is probably 1 year? (I don’t remember.) Free except for implant + anesthesia costs. (Possible from 6 months later.) Post-op services such as swelling injections are available for free. Both the consultant and the director were kind, and they tried to match the nose I wanted as much as possible. But they firmly said what wasn’t possible, which I liked. The price was 4.9 million won (including 10,000 won consultation fee + 50,000 won pre-op blood test). Same-day booking discount of 400,000 won, and 500,000 won discount for photo shooting with mosaic processing.
2. ㅋㅂㅈ (Sinnonhyeon) I went here because it’s a famous place specializing in nose surgery. This place is also about one floor of a building, and the consultant said the director probably performs 3 surgeries a day. The director is also an otolaryngology specialist, so functional surgery for deviated septum and rhinitis can be covered by indemnity insurance. They also recommended no implant because my nasal bridge is high, and osteotomy is essential. They consulted without taking a CT scan, but looked inside my nose and explained while drawing my nose. It was kind of funny, but they took a photo of my nose and edited it in Photoshop to explain that it would look like this lol. The surgical plan felt similar to place 1. They showed me other people’s photos, and there were many cases of crooked nose correction. Here, they said the upper area of my nostril wings looked hollow, so they suggested filling that area with cartilage (paranasal augmentation).
A/S is free for 3 years (excluding anesthesia cost). Swelling injections are free. The price was 4.8 million won (functional part 1.4 million won; if covered by indemnity insurance, 80-90% can be reimbursed). Same-day booking discount of 500,000 won. The review photos here were also natural, and there were many cases similar to mine. I liked that the correction came out in the way I wanted. Also, I’m concerned about my deviated septum, so I’m a bit drawn to it because it’s ENT-based.
3. ㅈㅇㅋㅇ (Apgujeong) I went because an acquaintance’s acquaintance said they do noses naturally. The whole building, over 5 floors, was the clinic. It was the biggest among the places I visited. Also, many foreigners came for surgery. The person guiding people at the counter was also foreign. They spoke Korean well lol. They did CT, then consultant consultation, then director consultation. Here too, they said osteotomy is essential because the hump is severe, and suggested correcting the deviated septum. The inferior turbinates inside were also swollen, but they said that’s something ENT does, so I should go separately later. (They said correcting the deviated septum might improve it somewhat, so I could do as I wished.) I asked about the nasal tip, and they said it seemed okay not to do it, but if I wanted, they could raise and support it a little to match the nasal bridge height. My nose is quite crooked, but they said my whole face is asymmetrical, so if they correct it too straight, the other crooked areas will show. They suggested correcting it in a balanced way even if it still looks a bit crooked. Oh, here they said they don’t put cotton packing in the nose. They said it’s an advantage because it won’t feel stuffy. But maybe they were trying to bundle-sell, because while talking about my weak chin, they also recommended an implant. It wasn’t forced, just like, if I wanted to.
I couldn’t ask about A/S, I forgot.. I think it’s probably similar to other places. The price was 4.4 million won for hump osteotomy, 1.4 million won for deviated septum correction, and 150,000 won for anesthesia and blood test costs. But they gave me an acquaintance discount. (Even if you’re not an acquaintance, maybe if you talk well, they might discount?) For reference, a chin implant was 3.3 million won. Here they printed it out like an actual estimate sheet.
