Around 2012? 2013? rhinoplasty was really booming among my friends, and I was in my early 20s, so I impulsively got rhinoplasty. I didn’t go to many consultations, and I didn’t research that thoroughly, but I went to a hospital that was famous in a community as a rhinoplasty specialty clinic. When others were getting rhinoplasty for 1.5 to 3 million won, I was the only one who paid around 3.6 million won, so it was expensive. (nasal tip: septal cartilage + nasal bridge: silicone) It was a hospital with one chief doctor, and they said they did only one surgery a day, or maybe up to two, anyway they scheduled more than 4 hours for the surgery. But after hearing other people’s stories, there was no one who had surgery for as long as I did or paid as much as I did. After that first surgery, I was very satisfied and lived like that for 5 to 6 years. During that time, I heard from friends who had gotten cheaper surgeries that they had inflammation and had their silicone removed, or their rhinitis got worse, and so on. So I felt reassured, thinking that because I paid a lot, I had fewer side effects too (though my nose did become sensitive), and maybe the surgery had gone well. But around 7 to 8 years later, I gradually started feeling like my nasal tip was dropping? coming down? and around the 10-year mark, I kept getting rhinitis, so I went to a hospital. They told me that the internal structure of my nose was asymmetric, so it was a structure where inflammation was bound to occur easily. I thought, is this something like a deviated septum? and just endured it. But since the functional aspect became a problem, I thought that now that it had been 12 years, even if the surgery had been done well, aging + deformation could happen, so I went to look into revision surgery. Fortunately, the doctor who did my first surgery was still operating the same hospital in the same location, so I didn’t think about looking elsewhere and went there.. The doctor said that after this much time, this amount of nasal tip drooping is within a natural range, and for the functional improvement I want, if I do revision surgery, it could get worse if anything, and it would be difficult for it to improve........... If I tell people somewhere that I had rhinoplasty, they are surprised. My nose is not pretty at all; from the front, you can see my nostrils right away.. For the past 5 years, I don’t have a single selfie taken from the front. I’m not that sensitive about my appearance and I’m rather dull about it, so I just hoped that while improving the function, the shape of my nose could become just a little better than now, just as good as when I first got rhinoplasty.. But hearing the doctor who made my nose say that makes me feel like the sky is fallingㅜㅜ The doctor said my nose is small and my nostrils are somewhat exposed? in shape, but my skin does not come down well, so it is difficult. The shape could become prettier, but he said it is not to the extent that I should undergo a bigger-scale surgery using autologous costal cartilage under general anesthesia, and I feel upset.. The estimate was from the hospital where I had my first surgery, and with autologous costal cartilage they quoted 10 million won. The doctor told me once again to think carefully, so I put it on hold for now and left. Is it difficult for revision surgery to fix functional problems like rhinitis..? I wasn’t going to upload photos, but no matter how much I think about it, it seems like a nose shape that needs surgery, so I’m posting photos too.. Please don’t ask for the hospital information.. Still, I was satisfied after the first surgery.. and I don’t intend to criticize that hospital. If that hospital said they would also take care of the functional part, I’d want to pay even 10 million won and do it, but at other hospitals, even for a nose operated on elsewhere using autologous costal cartilage, there are hardly any cases quoting 10 million wonㅜㅜ I have never done filler or Hiko? threads? anything like that at all. The rhinoplasty from over ten years ago is everything.. Even if problems happened with my nose, I thought since the doctor who did my nose was still there, he would somehow save it again, but I’m upset.. I live outside Seoul, and I have to go all the way to Apgujeong again for more consultations..ㅠㅠ
