Review on day 6 after square jaw + front chin contouring osteotomy

Because my parents were against it, I said I was going on a trip and secretly had surgery. I stayed at an accommodation for about 6 nights, came home today, and came in when my parents were not there, covered myself with a blanket and slept, so my parents still do not know. They might find out starting tomorrow, so I bought and offered them rice cakes as a gift.

My angular jaw was such a huge source of stress. My shoulders are narrow too, so my face looked even bigger, no clothes suited me, and I had been lurking in this community for nearly ten years while thinking it over. The reason my level is somewhat high even though I did not post much is because of this. My boyfriend dumped me, and that guy got married while I am alone ㅜㅜ I spent each miserable, depressed day, and this time the holiday was relatively long, so I thought that if I delayed any longer, I would not be able to do it. I am also in my 30s now.

On the day of surgery, I met the consultant, the nurse who did my preoperative tests, the director, and the anesthesiology director all before surgery. I was moved to the operating room and lying down, and when I opened my eyes, I was in the inpatient room. They did not wake me up urgently here either. I just opened my eyes and two and a half hours had passed. I had seen a review saying they woke them up in a rush, so I wondered if I would get slapped on the cheek too..

Every hour, staff came two or three times in rotation to check my condition. The director came about once an hour. Not knowing better, I lowered my head and bled (photo).

My condition was better than expected, so I walked back and forth alone in the room. I am fine, but sometimes I can feel something like the cut part of the bone and it hurts. It is tolerable. I ate in stages, increasing from water, juice, ice cream, to porridge. After the surgery, I was discharged the same day and just took the subway back to the accommodation. On the day of surgery and the next day, you cannot sleep lying down. You have to prop up two pillows and sleep leaning back. I did not know at first and thought I was going to die from the pain.

After two days, not knowing better, I drank juice through a straw and regretted using the straw. It seems like you need to wait some time before using a straw. It is hard to gather the mouth muscles? and suck. For food, I put food through the gap in my swollen, open mouth and swallowed it. I brought a Baskin Robbins spoon, and it was really useful. I recommend porridge, yogurt, crab sticks, soy milk, ice cream, and cheesecake. I tried cutting or mashing food with scissors, but it was hard. Breaking it into tiny pieces is harder than you might think. Eat things you can force in and swallow.

I started taking medicine from the day after surgery, and I wore the compression band for 2-3 hours. The pain became less from day 3 after surgery. If you take the medicine, it is okay. Cold compresses for swelling, warm compresses for bruising. Walking around in the early morning or morning, or using your mouth muscles a lot, helps with swelling and bruising. Shampooing is possible after stitch removal. I only rinsed my mouth with saline, then from day 3 after surgery, I brushed with a children's toothbrush and toothpaste + rinsed inside my mouth with saline.

I had my stitches removed + taping removed + laser treatment + CT imaging and diagnosis of my postoperative appearance, and stitch removal was less painful than I expected. After stitch removal, I am supposed to visit once every 2 weeks for progress checks, but I do not know if I will have time. They said it is for swelling care, so it is not mandatory to come. My mouth sensation seems to be all alive. For the sides and front, I think I still need more time. There is some kind of tingling sensation. I also need to see my facial line after the swelling goes down. Time will resolve the swelling.

To prevent sagging, I am thinking about considering dieting, a home-care massage device, yoga, etc. Even now, it still does not feel real that I had surgery.
