It has been 4 years since I had jaw surgery after orthodontic treatment. I was told at the dentist since I was young that I had a mild malocclusion, but I did not really feel it myself. Then I started orthodontic treatment in college and decided to have lower jaw surgery. I had surgery after 1.5 to 2 years of orthodontic treatment, and overall the effect is subtle enough that people around me would not notice unless I told them, but compared to photos before surgery, I really think I made the right choice. However, my jaw was originally asymmetric, and it has not been corrected much, so it is still asymmetrical now, and ever since the surgery, my left jaw muscle has felt tense? A bit stiff and sore. I am thinking about asking them to touch it a little more when they remove the fixation support used during surgery
