Since I was young, my nose looked unattractive and it stressed me out so much, so I had surgery early, at a young age after turning 20 ㅠ Of the attached photos, the top two are from 3 years after I had surgery at a certain large corporate hospital.. Because I had the surgery when I was too young.. I didn’t even know what kind of material donated rib cartilage was, but I was taken in by the claim that an upturned nose would be dramatically lowered, and I got on the operating table without understanding the material at all. At the time, I heard they used 3 mm silicone + donated rib cartilage for the nasal tip. As you would expect from a factory-like hospital, my first nose came out pretty, like a doll nose.. But I think that dramatic change only lasted about three months after the swelling went down. Gradually, I felt the implant bending/asymmetry, and as in the photo, the nasal tip started to turn upward abnormally. From the first year, the implant showed through, and although my face was facing forward, the bridge of my nose felt like it was looking about 3 degrees to the side, if that makes sense? It felt like the nasal bridge was slightly crooked. And the bridge was also abnormally high.. Because of a nose that looked stamped out of a factory without considering my face shape or impression, I went through so much emotional distress for 4 years ㅠㅠ I had only vaguely planned a revision surgery, but around February to March last year, something like acne appeared on my nasal tip, and even if it brushed slightly when I took off clothes, it hurt like crazy ㅠ Actually, after nose surgery, for 4 years I had only been looking up lists of hospitals good at revision surgery for short nose + upturned nose, and I couldn’t bring myself to get revision surgery.. But as soon as I felt it was an inflammatory reaction, I hurried and ended up getting revision surgery haha
Before the revision surgery, I asked them to make it as natural as possible...! I said it was okay if they didn’t forcefully lower the nasal tip~ and asked them to remove the nasal bridge implant (silicone) if possible. Since my original nose was really not good lol, even after revision, I don’t think the side profile, from the forehead line to the connected lip line, is especially pretty. But compared with the nose from my first surgery, it is very natural, so I’m living gratefullyㅜ
The place where I had the revision recommended fat grafting because, after removing the rib cartilage, they found the septal cartilage + ear cartilage would be used and the skin at the nasal tip had become too thin. They told me in advance that they would try to use autologous tissue as much as possible, but if they opened it and thought it would not work, rib cartilage might be used.. I was concerned about septal cartilage + fat grafting.. but the clinic is very well known for short nose/upturned nose surgery and is not a hospital run like a large corporation.. While consulting with the director before surgery, I trusted that they would take care of it well and left it to them~ If they had gone as far as rib cartilage, the cost would have been +++, but fortunately, I received revision surgery with autologous tissue. Above all, what I was most satisfied with during the revision surgery was that my open rhinoplasty scar improved a lot ㅠㅠ When I had the first surgery, the rhinoplasty scar was severe (in slang, it was messed up..? to that extent, but the photos I had taken disappeared when I changed phonesㅜ) During the revision surgery, after they used a suturing method called stepwise? the scar really decreased to the point that no one would know unless I deliberately tilted my head back for them to see ㅠㅠ Oh, and the acne-like thing on my nasal tip.. They said it was right before true inflammation, and I don’t know exactly whether it was a fragment of rib cartilage or what, but a bone fragment(?) had protruded. The director said it was fortunate I came early~ Around this time last year, because of nasal swelling, I couldn’t even bring myself to go anywhere, but time has passed like this lol Because it is hard to find reviews/information for short nose + upturned nose types... I’m leaving a review in this community after stopping by for the first time in a while haha If you have a lot of stress from an upturned nose, I recommend considering cosmetic surgery~~ But.. you have to accept many risks, so please visit many clinics for consultations and make a careful decision before going through with it haha. Since an upturned nose is a very difficult surgical case, put aside some of your greed~ You should get cosmetic surgery with the thought of improving it slightly within a safe range.. If you dream of a complete transformation, I really, really don’t think you should ㅠㅠ
There are about 5 or 6 people around me who have had nose surgery, and they all agree, saying that after surgery, the effect wears off after 1 year, and from 2 years on, they start trembling over the risk of side effects~~ haha
Since it has only been 1 year after revision surgery.. I’ll leave another review next year about what kinds of changes there were~
