After seeing 3 of my friends’ face lines become prettier after cheekbone surgery, I decided I should get plastic surgery too, and while looking into facial contouring surgery, I had a consultation at a place recommended by an acquaintance. As my cheek fat decreased, my cheekbones became more prominent, and since my chin was on the longer side, my lower face looked longer when I smiled, which stressed me out so much. The manager was kind, understood well why I needed facial contouring, and empathized with me, so my impression of them rose sharply. During the consultation with the director, they gave honest opinions and directly told me the areas that needed improvement, so my trust also increased. I scheduled the surgery date right away, and less than a week after the consultation, I was on the operating table..
#Day of surgery From when I woke up from sleep anesthesia after surgery until day 2, honestly speaking, I regretted deciding to have the surgery again and again. The inside of my mouth was so swollen I couldn’t talk, I was just babbling like a baby, and whenever I swallowed saliva my throat hurt so badly.. In the mirror there was some fan-shaped monster.. ha.., I really cried alone too, and thought more than 100 times that I wanted to turn back time. I was irritated, and since I had to sleep sitting up my tailbone hurt, bloody phlegm kept coming out, and why did so many things I wanted to eat come to mind at a time like this... only curses came out; I was so depressed but couldn’t go out, and the manager comforted me and soothed me a lot through texts, so I kept rereading only those texts and hoped time would pass quickly.. (They really gave me a lot of strength)
#Day 3 after surgery From 3 days later, my throat didn’t hurt when swallowing saliva anymore, but I still couldn’t talk. Babble babble..ㅡ ㅡ Because I desperately wanted the swelling to go down quickly, I bought pumpkin juice and swelling-reducing ampoules and took them with meals. And from day 4, after removing the tape at home, I had this feeling that my facial swelling was going down little by little..
#One week after surgery After removing the staples embedded near my temples, checking inside my mouth, and taking CT and panoramic images, finally, now it had been 7 days, one full week!!! Nothing hurt, and I felt like my cheekbone line was gradually becoming visible. The bloody phlegm had also decreased now, so I could sleep deeply. Even though I still babbled when talking, it was a little better than before..ㅠ My jaw had no sensation at all, so even if porridge dripped out while eating or water dripped out while drinking, I didn’t knowㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ.. Still, I’m relieved I can finally smile now.
I originally like porridge, so to help the swelling go down faster, I didn’t snack, didn’t eat dairy products, and lived on porridge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week. The swelling seems to be going down faster than I expected, so if the cheek area also goes down in week 2, I think it’ll be okay to walk around outside without a mask. But I have a big bruise next to my mouth, so I’m applying ointment all day. Please, I hope the swelling goes way down and sensation comes back quickly too.. Looking at other people’s reviews, they say they still don’t have much sensation in the jaw even at 3 months ㅠㅠㅠㅠ ha... waiting is so hard
#Week 2 after surgery I thought time would pass insanely slowly, but it’s already week 2. In week 2, I had the stitches inside my mouth removed, received care, saw the doctor, and came back. Having the stitches removed inside my mouth wasn’t painful, but it stung, and that stinging was insanely, very very very stingy, so I got chills..ㅠㅠ Since they were removing stitches before it was fully healed, it felt like raw flesh was being continuously poked with a needle, so I just hoped it would end quickly..
If I spent money to become prettier, I wish I could become prettier without pain, but it costs money and the pain comes along too.. It’s not easy to become prettier.. sigh
The care I received after the stitches made me so drowsy that I almost fell asleep. The nurse (..actually I’m not sure if she was older than me..ㅠㅠ) did it for me, and it felt nice because it was warm. Afterward, I saw the doctor, and they pressed to shape the cheekbone area.. I wanted to jump up and leave... It hurt insanely badly..
Anyway, they said that for week 2, I had relatively little swelling, so I felt good. Still, because of the swelling, it’s a bit uncomfortable to walk around outside for now..
#Week 5 after surgery My cheekbones are definitely gone and the line is smooth!!! There is still swelling: the cheek area is puffy, and the swelling under my jaw and around my neck is severe, like a double chin.. They say this won’t go away until more than 2 months have passed.. I hope I get pretty soon.
The photos are in order.
