It has been about 3 years since I had double eyelid surgery. I had the surgery after turning thirty, so I worried a lot about whether I was pointlessly doing it at an older age, and since no one around me had had cosmetic surgery, I emphasized that I wanted it small and natural before having the surgery. But I liked my eyes for about a year, and then after about 2 years, they started looking like inner double eyelids^^ I don’t know if I still had swelling even after a year or if it’s because I got older. After I did it, my younger sibling also had it done at the same hospital, and seeing that they say the same thing, I think it might be better to have the surgery done just a little bigger than you originally think. And before surgery, at first I didn’t know what style to choose (outline, inline, etc.), so I had consultations at several places. After going to about 4 places, only then did I realize, ah, this kind of shape suits my eyes. I think it’s best to visit as many places as possible. Also, I definitely had a consultation with the director and agreed to have inline double eyelids, but on the day of surgery, after local anesthesia, they said they were going to do an in-out line. I said I had consulted for inline and asked them to do inline, but they said things like, “I’m the doctor, I know better,” and that in-out would be better than inline, so they did an in-out line for me. Maybe because of that, until the line shrank and became inner double eyelids, I didn’t like the line. No matter how much the doctor is the expert, I think you know your own face better. If I were in that situation again now, I think I would firmly tell them to just do inline.
