Review of Square Jaw, Paranasal Augmentation, Fat Grafting, and Fillers

I had square jaw surgery 13 years ago. These days, techniques have developed a lot, and people get two-jaw surgery and shave their cheekbones too, but back then, it was an era when square jaw surgery and cheekbone shaving were the main procedures. I was worried that if they cut it too sharply like a dog-like jaw, it would be obvious I had my jaw shaved, so I asked them to make it natural. I think the surgery went reasonably well, but maybe because I asked for it to be too natural, it’s better than not having shaved it, but it didn’t become the pretty V-line style people get these days. I do feel regret, thinking that if techniques had been as advanced as they are now, I could also have gotten the pretty V-line that women get these days. Still, one good thing is that no one knows I had surgery. Haha. They just think my face is slim. While doing square jaw surgery, I also had paranasal augmentation and fat grafting. For the paranasal augmentation, I used Gore-Tex, but I think it moved a little higher than expected. When I touch it, there is a foreign-body sensation, but I don’t normally feel it. If I think about it again, I think it would have been better not to have paranasal augmentation. I think it would be better to fill the area with fat grafting or filler instead. Fat grafting is usually done up to the third round, but at the time I was an international student, so because of time, I could only do up to the second round. Still, a fair amount engrafted, so I liked it. Even now, a little remains in my forehead, so people tell me my forehead is pretty. Techniques have developed a lot now, so they would probably do it better, but I had it done 13 years ago, so the techniques must not have been as good as now. So, from my point of view, there are some slightly uneven areas on my forehead that only I notice. Still, it was better than not doing it, so I lived satisfied for 13 years. Even with fat grafting, the nasolabial folds sank quickly, and mine were on the deep side. Once every 1-2 years, I got filler at a dermatology clinic or plastic surgery clinic in my nasolabial folds, dorsal hump area, and the hollow areas under my eyes. Looking back now, I think I should have only put filler in my nasolabial folds and dorsal hump area. Under the eyes seems to look unnatural unless it is done at a really good plastic surgery clinic. It looks a bit swollen. Getting under-eye filler is something I regret. Even if you get nasolabial fold filler and dorsal hump filler at a dermatology clinic, for areas like under the eyes or cheeks, make sure to go to a skilled plastic surgery clinic. At first, I had no knowledge about fillers, so I got Radiesse in my nasolabial folds and dorsal hump area about 3 times, once every 6 months to 1 year. Then, after some time passed, I got Juvederm and Restylane under my eyes, in my nasolabial folds, and in my nose once every 1-2 years. Something I heard recently is that fillers should be ones like Juvederm and Restylane that dissolve away and are absorbed by our bodies. They say calcium-based fillers like Radiesse last a little longer, but do not dissolve well and are not absorbed by our bodies. ㅠㅠ These days there are so many types of fillers, and many new ones have come out, but they say the new ones have not yet been verified that much. So they told me that for filler, I should only get Juvederm and Restylane, which have been out for a long time and are verified. At first, I got Radiesse at a Korean-owned place overseas that did skin care and lasers. At that time, the doctor and the manager said it would dissolve after a year and be absorbed by my body, so I believed them and did it, but I really regret it. They say if you get something like Radiesse, even if you do fat grafting later, you have to scrape out the filler first. If I were to do it again, I think the best thing would be to get filler only in my nasolabial folds and nose, wait, and if the under-eye area or cheeks become hollow, not put in filler and just do fat grafting. If you keep getting filler, the face changes to look a bit unnatural, with a foreign-body feel. Please keep that in mind. Haha. Of course, other people may not notice, but because I’m very sensitive about my appearance, I can clearly tell where I got filler. Haha. These are the cosmetic procedures I’ve had so far, and now I’m becoming interested in thread lifting and forehead lift surgery.
