Ever since I was young, my cheekbones were a huge, huge, huge complex for me, so I had been thinking about surgery for a long time. But I was scared, and the cost was no small amount, so I kept putting it off. Then I finally thought, “There’s nowhere left to back away to now. Let’s get the surgery before it gets any later!” and decided to go through with it. I think I went in and out of the Gangnam area more than my own home while going around for consultations. After going to a lot of consultations, everyone said pretty similar things. But among them, the place I liked the most was Soda Plastic Surgery. First of all, it was a single-doctor clinic, and as soon as I walked in, it felt calm and clean, but also somehow cozy, so I liked the atmosphere. The staff were kind, and when I made inquiries, they replied really quickly. The biggest deciding factor was that Director Kwon Jae-hyun gave a very detailed and sincere consultation, which made me trust him, and he first pointed out exactly the areas I had wanted addressed. After thinking it over, I decided to get 1-type cheekbone surgery at Soda Plastic Surgery. From the day of surgery until about day 4, even with extra painkillers, it seriously hurt so much that I wanted to pass out. I didn’t even feel like eating, but I had to take my medication, so I forced down one or two New Care drinks a day and just kept repeating sleeping and waking up endlessly. From day 5, once I took the extra painkillers, it got better and became a bit more bearable. Still, the intraoral incision site hurt and bothered me, so for meals I just roughly melted and ate one or two New Care drinks, castella, and chiffon cake, then slept again. After getting the stitches removed on day 7, it became livable. My appetite came back too, so I ate a whole bowl of porridge at every meal and still struggled with hunger. Malatang, tteokbokki, pork ribs, pork belly kept floating before my eyes... After surgery, every time I looked in the mirror I looked exactly like someone stung by bees, so it was honestly so funny, but I could see that my cheekbones had gotten smaller. I thought, “Wow, once the swelling goes down, this will be amazing,” and seriously wondered whether I should take swelling medication. They said swelling goes down quickly if you take walks, but it was so cold outside that I didn’t even think about walking and still just kept sleeping lolololol Then from around week 3, I had a lot of reasons to go out, so while I was out I walked around a lot, and the swelling really started going down fast. I went to the clinic for high-frequency care as aftercare, and the therapist who did the treatment told me the swelling had really gone down a lot, so I felt that walking really is the best for reducing swelling lol. Now that the weather has warmed up, I resolved to walk around a lot and get rid of the remaining swelling quickly. Once it was exactly 1 month after surgery, I could make all facial expressions as long as I wasn’t scrunching my face up dramatically, and my mouth opens well too, so I’m eating mainly soft foods from regular meals. As the swelling started going down rapidly, sensation in the areas where the cheekbones were shaved also started coming back quickly. The left side still feels slightly dull, but I think it’ll return to normal soon?! The swelling hasn’t fully gone down yet, but the line looks more refined, and I especially love that my 45-degree cheekbones have been reduced. I met my friends recently, and they said the surgery really turned out so well, that it’s not excessive and the balance is just right now, so I became even more satisfied lolololol
