For my first surgery, I had ptosis correction at a clinic where the current director of the large ㄱㄹㄷ Plastic Surgery Clinic was practicing independently under his own name in Gangnam. I already didn’t like it at the time, and the left side came undone, so for my second revision surgery, an older woman I knew had good results with the non-incisional method, so I went to the clinic where she had gone and it completely failed. (Since I had eyes that had undergone ptosis correction, they had been incised, so it should have been another incision, but I went to a place known for non-incisional surgery. Even so, the director who operated was also really...)
For my third revision surgery, I paid a lot of money at ㅎㅈㅇ(ㅏ ㅣ ㅜㄴ), which I had found with great difficulty and which no longer exists now, but even there, it was only corrected; the eyes simply did not turn out well.
I lived resigned to it, but I was under so much stress that 6 years after my third surgery, I started looking into revision surgery clinics and went around for consultations. I went to about eight consultations, but I’ll write only the ones I remember.
1. The first place I went to was ㄷㅎ (ㅜ ㅏㄴ). The director said that even if I had revision surgery, it probably wouldn’t improve much, and looking at the review photos, it seemed like they could make completely botched eyes look like human eyes, but to me, they didn’t look natural and still looked like operated eyes. 2. Next was the notorious ㅇㅎㅁ. After seeing the photos they showed me there, I almost really had surgery there. The counseling manager told me the cost, and it was nearly ten million won. Inside, I first started worrying about how I would come up with that money. There were so many bad reviews online, so I passed. (If I hadn’t had the failed experience at ㅎㅈㅇ before, I might have done it here. It’s a huge relief I didn’t.)
3. ㅁㅅㄹㅇ This clinic was truly the worst. The director looked at my eyes and pointed out the problems one by one, but the solution was to incise my existing incision line again and cover it. So I asked whether that wouldn’t make the scar worse, and he said the current scar is not the issue, what matters is making the eyes properly. At that, my trust disappeared completely. (He said the scar would absolutely not improve.) I also didn’t like that they wouldn’t show review photos. After coming out, I felt bad because of the rude counseling manager, so I just left.
4. ㄱㅎㅅ(ㅣㅁ ㅏㄴ ㅓㅇ) I liked this director because he was at least honest. He said he understood there were issues with my eyes, but that revision surgery probably wouldn’t have much effect. Because he seemed unconfident, I passed on this place too.
5. JJ (Director Hong Jin-joo) The consultation was good, and she explained the things I was curious about well, so I liked it. However, she seemed unconfident about the scar area, which I was most worried about, so I put it as my second choice. In my experience, when the doctor seems unconfident, the surgical result also doesn’t seem to be that good.
6. ㅂㅇ (Dr. Cho Won-chang) I heard this place was really famous, so mentally I had decided on it and went there. I wasn’t convinced after the first consultation, so after consulting twice, I made up my mind to do it here. He said there would be no problem with the surgery, but during the consultation I didn’t get that feeling of “This is the place!!” Still, among the clinics I had listed, I knew it was the most famous for eye revision surgery, so I decided on the surgery.
7. ㅇㅇㅇ(ㅏ ㅣ ㅜ ㅓ ㄴ) Director Park Byung-jun After deciding on surgery at ㅂㅇ above, I still wasn’t very sure, and since I happened to have a consultation reservation here a month later, I went thinking I’d consult only here and then decide. The consultation with the director was really short. But during that short time, he said exactly what I wanted to hear. (It’s hard to say specifically what.) Right after the consultation, I scheduled the surgery date. Here. It was scheduled for one month after the consultation.
It has now been 6 months since my fourth surgery at ㅇㅇㅇ. After the surgery, I can look other people straight in the eyes. I also no longer worry that someone might whisper about me having had surgery. However, there is something I slightly don’t like about the line on my right eye, so I mentioned it at the follow-up, and I’m going to receive aftercare revision after Chuseok. Until I received revision surgery and succeeded, I went through a lot emotionally and had a lot of stress, so I’m very grateful now. For those whose surgery didn’t turn out well, please don’t give up and keep looking hard, and I believe you will get good results. Because I know that feeling so well, I’m leaving this review.
That was my review from realizing that plastic surgery is all about putting in the legwork.
