It’s been 2 months since I had non-incisional double eyelid surgery and upper canthoplasty. My original eyes had inner double eyelids. Sometimes when I woke up, the double eyelid line would loosen and disappear, so my double eyelids were often uneven. I often heard that my eyes looked slanted, making my impression look strong.
Originally, I thought that because they were inner double eyelids and looked sharp, I only wanted to lower the outer corners of my eyes with lateral canthoplasty, so I went to the hospital to get a consultation. But after consulting with the director, unlike what I thought, they said that instead of lateral canthoplasty, I should do upper canthoplasty together with non-incisional double eyelid surgery so my eyes would look rounder and my impression would look a little gentler. So I said I thought just lowering the eye corners with lateral canthoplasty would solve the slanted-eye look, and they said that lateral canthoplasty alone would improve slanted eyes by only about 30%, while upper canthoplasty plus non-incisional double eyelid surgery would improve it by about 85%. So I decided to trust the director and have upper canthoplasty and non-incisional double eyelid surgery, which would at least make my sharp-looking eyes look gentler. The non-incisional double eyelid line was set somewhat high, and they said that later, once the swelling went down, the line could look thinner, so I asked them to set the line high.
After surgery, as expected, because the line was high, my eyes looked quite overwhelming because of the swelling and bruising, but I diligently did cold compresses and warm compresses at home. Now that it’s 2 months after surgery and a lot of the swelling has gone down, the line doesn’t look that high. I like it just right. I think it was a good choice to set the line high. My eyes definitely look clearer, and after upper canthoplasty, my eyes became a bit rounder, so I think my eyes look much gentler than before. The eyes that used to be uneven at times are now symmetrical too. I don’t know if the line will become even thinner over time, but anyway, I think it turned out well. I don’t regret getting upper canthoplasty and non-incisional double eyelid surgery. There is an upper canthoplasty scar, and a week ago I went to the hospital and had a scar injection and laser treatment to tear down the scar tissue (the smell of my flesh burning... painfulㅠㅠ). The director said my skin is the type that gets pigmentation easily in scars, maybe? Scar injections hurt a lot. After getting the scar injection, my tears wouldn’t stop, so the nurse held cotton against my eyes for a long time to stop the tears. Now I think the scar has faded a lot, though there is still a tiny scar left.
